That writer has got to be kidding about the Suns and Mavs being the #1 rivalry in the league. Rivalry means that both teams trade victories, which clearly isn't happening with the Suns/Mavs.

Look at last years' Spurs-Dallas series, where the rivalry began:

Game 1 decided by 2 points, Game 3 decided by 1 point, Game 4 went into OT, Game 5 decided by 1 point, Game 7 went into OT.

That's two 1-point games, one 2-point game, and two OT games.

And you call a Mavs 6-game sweep of the Suns a better series than that? Gimme a break.

In Dallas and in SA, all Mavs/Spurs fans care about is Dallas vs. SA.

Exchange victories? Since Nash became a Sun, that's all either team has done. In upwards of 25ish games, I think the Mavericks have a winning record of like 22-21 vs. Phoenix, or something like that, in the two plus years. It's as close to a split as it gets. Now, had he made the case for the Suns/Spurs, then I'd agree, but both the Suns and Mavs have won a playoff series vs. the other in the past two years. How isn't that exchanging vitctories?

no it's not really a rivalry. well maybe, just not one with the magnitude of...let's say lakers/kings. the games are different, longer, boring-er, and i dont really have the word it's just different.

we can officially lump Suns fans in with Mavs "fans".....one decent win, and every last one of them comes crawling out of the woodworks to try and jump in on the dogpile.

not really. how soon you forget how much crap you all laid upon us in December when Dirk actually hit a game winning shot.

Id rather the Spurs stay away from the rivalry spotlight this time, let them focus on the win-streak.

What so am I supposed to post at a Spurs fan site every other day? I have better things to do thanks. I do however read every now and then... and I thought the reference to a "six game sweep" was extremely funny so I thought I'd respond.

I also find it funny how you refer to beating the Mavs in Dallas as a "decent" win.. I guess you don't think too highly of the Mavs. :lol
