Was just yesterday I saw the thread about Sports Cards and today I rcvd some redemption cards from Upper Deck.
I just pulled a freakin' UD Black JordanCamp card.
I was really really, reallyyyyyy skeptical of the fact that I won this:

So, I called the 800 # listed on the card and was xfrd from one rep to a diff cust svc rep, I was told that I'd won the one AND only card in the giveaway like this. I couldn't freakin' believe it.
I was told on the bottom of the card was a scratch off portion that would need to be scratched off and verified.

I still can't believe this shit. :dizzy :drunk

Receipt of the completed application and a check for the $17,500 fee (made payable to Michael Jordan's Senior Flight School) is required to be fully registered.

It costs $17.5K to register yourself for the MJ Flight School. Add in the extra perks you got, and you just pulled $20K out of a pack of cards.

Thanks Kris............I think I've read LJ's post about the $17,500/person about 20 times and when I looked at the video on the MJ Flight School's website there looked to be apprx 45-55 people at the school.

Awesome, congrats ... but if you accept the prize directly from the sponsor you will have to pay about $5K in income tax (28% of $17.5K, unless you're making big bucks) and they usually make you do that up-front. So not quite "free". :depressed

Legally, yes. I have no idea what sales, if any, eBay reports to the IRS. When you win more than a coupla K at a casino they report it (or they used to, it's been a while) but I'm not sure if eBay is required by law/statute to do the same.

That is awesome. I have met MJ and he is very cool by the way. You probably should consider what kind of shape you are in before deciding to go. That is a real camp with real drills and you don't want to have a heart attack. That would be a tough decision for me. I would love to go to that camp, but banking $20K would be very nice too.
