Does anyone else think the current seeding favors the Spurs?

If the top 3 seedings remain: Mavs, Suns, and Spurs the first round would end up looking like this:

1) Mavs vs 8) Warriors

2) Suns vs 7) Lakers

3) Spurs vs 6) Nuggets

I think Warriors will prove to at least make it a little tough for the Mavs in the first round. With their running style and Nelly as the coach, they could take the Mavs to 6 games.

Despite the Lakers struggles of recent, they are begining to get healthy. Odom, Walton, Kwame, etc. This could be an exciting series again as a rematch of last year. Obviously, I don't think the Lakers can beat the Suns, but again they could at least give them a run for their money and take the game to 6.

Nuggets while they're on a current 3 game winning streak, I believe this would be the easiest first round matchup for the Spurs as they gear up to face Suns/Dallas. Nuggets play zilch defense and I can see the Spurs winning in 5.

What seedings/matchups would you like to see in the playoffs that would best benefit the Spurs?

We can only hope. But it's never WHO we play...it's HOW we play.

i dont care for the first round

plus dealing with melo and AI won't be fun

i'm more worried with the 2nd rd and wcf which will be a real bitch this year

I'll admit i'm a little worried about the mavs having to play the warriors if they hang on to the 8th seed. I can see that series going 6-7 games and wearing the mavericks down.

But that's the whole point. Going through a tough first round series is going to make it even harder in the second round...

I want to face the suns and mavs in the postseason
then when they win it all NO ONE will doubt they will not the best team
I want the spurs to have a few days off in between though and completly healthy

Actually, I think the Lakers or Clippers (now 8th) would be the easiest first round match. They're both playing like dogshit. That's one of the reasons I want SA to finish second.

Nugz no D for sure, but if Melo and Iverson and Nuggets speed things up that would give the Spurs an opportunity work out that aspect of the game so there's positives for team but drawback for BBowen in that regard of playing uptempo game.

the problem with lakers is kobe will win a game or 2 himself
and lakers are just starting to get healthy
before this streak they won 13 out of 16 when healthy

We've already packed Denver's shit in twice this year but have struggled against LA so maybe the Nugs would be the easier match-up. They' take a couple of cheap shots against our guys before it's all said and done though.

Nuggets play much more physical ball than the Lakers. I would worry more about someone getting hurt in the first round playing against the Nuggets.

Yeah, we got physically shit beat last year by Sacto. Some teams do that when they know they don't match up.

In 2005 we got the physical shit beat out of us by Denver, then again by Seattle. We were very lucky to get out of those two with no major injuries.

The first round this year is bullshit. It's just two extra week to get to the real games. There will be no surprises ala the 93(?) Nuggs beating the Sonics.
