I'm trying to find out if it's possible to connect a DVD burner to my Time Warner DVR/receiver so that I can burn some content on to DVD format.

Do any of you have any experience with this or know if it's possible? There is some programming that comes on at times that I would really like to use for my groups, I'm just not sure if I can hook up a stand alone DVD burner to my DVR/receiver.

Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I can't specifically answer your question, but this would be a good place to start.

I don't think this is the piece of equipment you're referring to, but we have our Sony DVD player/recorder hooked up to our DVR and we record stuff from the DVR all the time. It's pretty handy for kids' shows and Riverwalk parades...

there is a USB input on the DVR box, but i think the contents are encrypted pretty well. it's not plug and play, and i'm sure there's a way around it, but what Summers said is probably easiest if you have an external dvd burner.

edit: the USB and firewire ports on most of these boxes are turned off, so no go there. best bet would be above, or if you happen to have a vid capture card. only problem there is the output would more than likely be converted to analog once if left the box.

You can't just take a dvd burner from your pc and hook that up to your dvr, but if you have a dvd recorder, the outputs on the dvr will hook up to it... or you can just use a vhr to record your content off of your dvr.
