I've heard it's green and has a lot of hills. Soccer is the main sport but basketball is common. I heard that it started snowing about a week ago.
What else can you tell us abuot it?
Well, if you're interesting you can visit Lonely planet (http://www.lonelyplanet.com/destinations/europe/slovenia/) to find out more. :king

I don't know if you are familiar with ski jumping, but here is a shot of the longest jump in the world 231m / 252,62yards from PLANICA (http://www.planica.info/) Slovenia!
They call it Big Mamma Hill 231m WR (http://users.volja.net/uroskralj/20030323record.mpg) :hat

Yes one week ago there was snowing.
Speaking of skiing, would you recommend any ski resorts in Slovenia. I was thinking of going somewhere else for a change.

:lmao at the dude playing the accordian in the background! This is the most moronic band I've ever heard. They have invented a new "genre" in slovenian music called Turbo Folk which is based on accordeon and ass. If you don't believe me here's their No. 1 hit (http://www.kerberos.si/Images/Media/Brizgalna_brizga-mono.mp3) which I'm forced to listen to at least 50 times a day by my 5 year old daughter.
If anybody has the cure for this - please help!

:lol Oh, that's terrible. I feel for you, Slomo! What are they singing about, anyway and what's the deal with the rooster???
Slomo
11-18-2004, 12:38 PM
It's a song about how a girl(s) will chose a healthy village fireman over a city boy. It's full of sexual inuendo (the chorus go something like the girls singing "I'll choose a boy, you know a BIG boy....." and it's a big hit at parties and village fairs. The music is loosely based on local folk music (yes we're a polka nation) and if you know that some of my favourite artist are Eric Clapton, Norah Jones, Dianna Krall you can picture me leaving the house screaming everytime it's on.
But they are selling copies like crazy and their concerts are sold out!
The rooster? well I guess it's there to set the mood!?

I'm sure it was intended as funny, nobody expected it to become so popular (the girls are good looking so that helps a lot too).

Slomo, you may not realize it, but San Antonio (And due south of town) has an awful lot of polka music. The area where my wife is from has a lot of Bohemian influence (Czech/Pole/Slavic/German). Matter of fact, my wife's Grandmother has such a heavy Czech accent I can hardly understand her. And years ago when those peoples settled the areas, the Mexicans who also lived in the area adopted the accordian and polka style of music and "conjunto" and "ranchero" types of music that evolved from that pairing is still very popular today.
Sincerely,
Cliff Claven
