How long a personal check is valid for??
My wife got a check from a family member, but she is unable to cash it because her DL is suspended and she has no ID. Or does anyone know where she could cash it with an old ID and SS card?

Have her endorse it over to you and then you deposit it or cash it at your bank....

When she goes to get the ID and she has a warrant, they won't arrest her? I mean, she has to go to the DL office, and there are DPS troopers there just for that purpose, I believe. I could very well be wrong, though.

And I was told once that personal checks were good for a year.

unless she missed the court appearance they wont arrest her....... if she missed the court date they will hold her until someone can pay off what she owes..... and i hope you know the longer you wait on a ticket the more you are gonna have to pay.... i bet just by missing the court date its gonna cost at least 300 dollars more now......

Is Texas one of the states where you can pay your ticket off soon as you get it? like directly give the cop money?

oh... I was just asking because I know some states you can literally pay the cop so you don't have to go to court or drive to the courthouse to pay it off....... They carry one of those debit/credit machines and shit....

what was she doing to get a 310 dollar ticket? i had to pay 380 for a ticket once for going like 95 in a 50 zone......... but i showed up to court to get a lower fine and the cop never showed up so they took it off my record and i didnt have to pay shit.......

West Av. isnt as bad as North West Military, that shit is out of control. Not as bad as Shavano though

funny... in CA that would easily be like a 500-600 dollar ticket........ failure to appear automatically adds on 300 dollars......
