Use this thread as a springboard for promoting your MVP candidate.

Also, it's here to move Larry Hughes>>>>>>Kobe Bryant off the page.

Anyway, mine's Dirk.

Tim Duncan, 20 points, 11 boards, 3.5 assists, 2 and a half blocks, a steal, and 53 % from the field

Anybody besides Dirk or Nash, I'd vote for T-Mac.

Dirk
Kobe
Duncan
Nash
Pierce (for allowing the Celtics to tank and get a good crack at the top pick)

1. Dirk
2. Nash edges out Duncan only because his team is terrible w/o him whereas Parker and Ginobili and Co. wouldn't fold like a house of cards w/o Duncan for 2-3 games.
3. Duncan
4. Kobe...sorry a string of 50 point games doesn't equate to a season's worth of MVP status even though it is impressive
5. Lebron

Dirk, Kobe, Nash

I like Dirk, but I think a lot of his success this season is credited more to Avery Johnson....who is my pick for COY.

Steve Nash. No other player does more for his team.

Dirk by default

Quote:

Bryant defined Most Valuable Player. Not only has he proven to be one of the great all-around scorers of any generation, but he jump-started a team that appeared headed for the lottery. With both Lamar Odom and Luke Walton sidelined, they were fading fast when Bryant got suspended by the league for a second time for what they thought was an unnecessary flailing of the arm after a shot. That set off Bryant on his most recent binge. And while Bryant claims he shouldn't be considered for MVP because it should be reserved for players on teams with the best records in the league, he is right to the point that he won't win the MVP because the Lakers have struggled all season. Nonetheless, he will finish in the top five.

Dirk for how he and the Mavs have bounced back from the Finals debacle. Now as for them winning the Title this year time will tell. The West playoffs have no easy rounds this year.
