I just looked at the standings page and it has the spurs at the 4th seed and utah at the 3rd?

when are the jerk offs of the nba going to get the seeding correct? Win loss record should decide the positions not this worthless shit system we have right now...

Um, I just looked and it has the Spurs 3rd with the Jazz 4th.

When are the jerkoffs that post prematurely going to realize that the NBA does indeed decide position based on W-L record (division winners are only guaranteed at least the fourth seed, depending on leading non-division winners W-L record)?

I saw this morning that Utah has actually clinched the Northwest. Though it was hardly in any doubt, they've now sown up no worse than 4. The Spurs, too, are on the cusp of clinching no worse than #3 -- Houston is 6 losses back with 11 for the Spurs to play. Any combination of 6 Spurs wins or Rockets losses will put the Spurs at something in the top 4. Any combination of 8 Spurs wins or Jazz losses gets the Spurs nothing worse than #3 -- and if the Spurs win on Friday night that number will drop by 3 because the Spurs will likely seize the tiebreaker against the Jazz.

The Mavs' magic number to absolutely seal the deal in the Southwest is 3. I think the Mavs' magic number to seal up the top record in the West is 6.

If we win we will be 2-2 vs Jazz this year. If the next breaker was Conf record, Spurs are currently 31-11 and Jazz are 28-13. A Spurs win Fri gives us another game edge in that dept. A loss makes this tiebreaker moot, as the Jazz would lead head-to-head 3-1.
