It's on NBA.com. Now they are just athletic. Not young and unathletic. Finally someone on their team with some charisma. And no I'm not just saying that because he's a former Spur.

I'll say good luck to him.

He'll definitely come in handy, especially if they run into Houston or san Antonio. Now Willis has played for all 3 Texas teams in his career. I wonder how many players have done that....Only ones I can think of are Vernon Maxwell, David Wood, and Avery Johnson.

correct me if im wrong but i thought after a certain date signed players were ineligible for a playoff spot?

I think that's for players that are claimed off of waivers or began the season with another team. The Willis signing for Dallas is exactly like when we signed Glenn Robinson in 2005. I think we signed him on April 1st.

Only if they were on a team and were released after the deadline (which I think was the 21st of February)

Spurs have no room on our roster, but I wouldn't mind bringing him back.

they think they have to find the answer to Tim Duncan. Willis is not.

Willis caused Devin Brown's near playoff injury in the locker room when they out-hassle each other in the locker room the last time he was here. i hope he won't do the same thing with Dirk or Howard :lol

DALLAS (AP) -- The Dallas Mavericks will sign 44-year-old forward Kevin Willis to a 10-day contract Monday if he passes a physical.

Dallas coach Avery Johnson said Friday the 7-foot Willis would be signed to give the team another big man for the postseason.

"He'll be around our big guys at practice to bang on them," Johnson said. "Hopefully we can get him in good enough shape to play in an emergency and maybe give us a couple of fouls."

Willis is a veteran of 20 NBA seasons and played in 29 games for the Atlanta Hawks in 2004-05. He was not on an NBA roster last season.

Willis has averaged 12.2 points and 8.4 rebounds during his career, and he would be the oldest active player in the league if signed.

This is the third thread about Kevin Willis :lol

You'd think a guy who was barely going to get playing time wouldn't get much attention.

Good luck to Kevin though.

Lame-o Diop can guard Duncan pretty well though.

I hope he does. :lol

Willis probably will see few minutes if any. They signed him for security and a 3rd center since Mbenga is out. Unless we play hack-a-shaq on someone, or one of our big men is in trouble dont expect him to see the floor very much. He wont be back next season, but it will allow him to pick up another ring.

Danny "Potato" Fortson, because he looked like a potato wrapped in foil.

WTF?

That was the 03-04 Season. Eschmeyer and Podkolzin were not even on the team. The Mavs centers consisted of Fortson, Walker, and Dirk.

Only way Willis picks up another ring is if he had signed up with the Spurs.

Looking forward to seeing Finley getting his first ring, though.

I purposely left them off, Bradley does not count as a basketball player and Williams came late in the season.

This makes me sad. I loved Willis when he was here. He fit in perfectly with us at that point. Who can forget his effort against the Lakers in 03.

The answer to the series is how Diop can defend Duncan. Judging by past performance...pretty damn well. KDub is only being brought in for leadership. He might have a season high 3 rebounds some game in the upcoming 10, but he won't be a difference maker ON THE FLOOR. Let's see how smart this move is...

He's being brought in case Damp & Diop both get in foul trouble or one gets injured. Any leadership and experience is just a bonus. To say that's the only reason he's being brought in is just not the true.

who cares about shaq....how the fuck are the Mavericks going to stop Amare? Pathetic efforts so far out of Damp and Diop. I doubt a 44 year old will do much better.

stretch
04-02-2007, 09:20 AM
my post was a joke. but we dont need to stop Amare. do what the Spurs did a couple years ago. let him get his points, but beat the hell out of everyone else. Bell, Barbosa, Marion, Diaw can all be shut down if you simply get physical with them. Nash will always get his points. Amare will get his as well. But they arent capable of winning a 7 game series on their own. We just can let Bell and Barbosa kill us with 50 threes a game like they do to most other teams.
