i can recall dallas and phoenix scoring over 100 in thier sleep....stat makes the spurs look bad matched up with these teams in the playoffs..

Just looking at 2005, the Spurs were 3-8 when allowing 100+

However, against Phoenix in the WCF, the Spurs gave up 100 three times and won twice. I think that in a series where 100 points is the norm, they will adjust.

To me that stat is more a testament to their defense. Only giving up 100 points eleven times in today's NBA is pretty impressive.

A lot of those were games the Spurs gave up...took the night off...didn't try...so it's no wonder they lost them.

Check our your record when trailing after 3 quarters. Its not as good as you think it would be for a 55-60 game winner.

we had no defense whatsoever last year against the Mavs, almost all of the games were 100+


so yeah, keeping the score under 100 would be ideal

i doubt we'll be 12-2 when letting our opponents score over 100 this coming playoffs

Well Mr. Glass Half full...you could also look at it that more often than not of those 11 games...Pop probably went with small ball for most of the game which led to the 100+ points.

And do you know what Pop is going to end up doing in the playoffs?......Probably some more small ball.

If anything the Spurs are methodical, but that means it takes a long time for them to change an aspect of their game. It's been what, 11 months since smallball made it's infamous debut in the semis last year. Spurs game is so etched in stone that to rewrite the script, redefine the heart and hustle to take on an uptempo Sun's/Mavs style requires time and patience.

Do we have time to make smallball work? And more importantly, did we confine ourselves into following a course that now makes it too late to change at this time of the year?
