Finley earning his pay

Bowen tied his career high for 3-pointers. His last one, which he hit from the corner with 5 minutes left in the third, gave the Spurs a 20-point lead.

Michael Finley hit three 3s to help the Spurs finish 9-of-21 (43 percent) from behind the arc. Seattle was 2-of-8 (25 percent). Finley, who started in place of Barry, had 13 points and has scored in double digits in his last six games.


Fabricio Oberto had 11 points and 10 rebounds for San Antonio.

Finley has been very consistent and seems ready for the playoffs. Now if only Bowen, Oberto and company could show the same consistency. :ihit

If he gives the bigs a chance, and we move away from small ball, our chances improve substantially.


Obviously the bigs need to show that they deserve to be on the floor (Elson had a good start but quickly turned into a foul machine).

He wants to give the bigs a chance but Elson and Oberto get called for everything. I can't remember a game all season where they both had less than 2 fouls going into half-time.

In honesty Elson doesn't play very good defense and Oberto is average at best. Sometimes small ball is more of a last resort than a gameplan.

Elson is a good rotation defender, good help defender, and his one on one D has improved significantly.

elson still misses a lot of rotations. his defense has improved, and is sometimes good, but he is still very inconsistent. he's what we have though.
