MY DVD drive isn't reading or I assume isn't reading my DVDs when I insert them into the drive. Just two days ago it would take a couple of seconds before recognizing a DVD and would then ask me what I wanted to do with that DVD... i.e., open with windows, open with Intervideo WinDVD-- etc

Now-- nothing.
When I click on "My Computer" that drives shows/reads empty.

Any ideas??

or.....

Go to control panel and then to system, then click on hardware device and find your dvd rom. Uninstall it, then reboot windows and it should locate and re install it then get back to me,

Will the drive still read cd-roms?

could be as simple as a CD/DVD lens cleaner problem.

Don't you hate when folks ask for advise and never give updates?
