Come to Austin, son! Go ask Vince and Kevin - if you come here we'll make you a star!!

On a serious note, we do have a point guard who can get you the ball. You really didn't want to be in the sticks with tha hicks anyway...

Just kick us while we're down... where's CaptMike to make an argument about "class" now?

Oh, that's right - he's having a drink or 10 with Eddie and Sean.

Jordan wasn't all that solid to Aggy since Jan anyways. Word is Billy decided he didn't want to hire his AAU coach after all what with Jordan not likely to qualify.

Texas A&M recruit Jordan on the move?

A sign has emerged that star recruit DeAndre Jordan might be wavering on his commitment to Texas A&M.

On a standard form filled out by all players, Jordan -- who is scheduled to participate in Saturday's Adidas Derby Festival Basketball Classic in Louisville -- left blank the question about what college he will attend, game organizer Dan Owens said.

When Texas A&M's Gillispie was a rumored candidate for the Arkansas job, Jordan said he might follow the coach. He could not be reached after Gillispie became Kentucky's coach.

"Don't read too much into it," Owens said of Jordan's non-response. "But most players put the college they've committed to."

Typically, a school is part of a player's introduction at the Derby Festival game. Owens wasn't sure how Jordan will be introduced.

But he said he will ask Jordan for a school when the participants arrive in Louisville on Thursday. "Particularly in light of what he put down there or didn't put down there," Owens said.

We're screwed...

Turgeon was just interviewed on The Pulse by Gottlieb and said he had spoken to all recruits this afternoon and expected all of them to honor their committment based on their conversations.

I hope he is right!

People have been making a pretty deal about KSU saying that they don't let recruits out of their LOIs as a matter of policy, but that is actually pretty standard across the board unless the coach or player can make a hell of a case to the AD as to why they should be an exception.

The policy has been they don't let players out of LOIs after a coaching change until a replacement is in place. Following the hiring of a new coach the players are allowed to get out of their LOIs without penalty. That's how I have seen it explained in the past.

They let them out due to the combination of the coaching change and violations hitting.

Highly-regarded prospect DeAndre Jordan will not follow Billy Gillispie to Kentucky, the player's AAU coach said Thursday.

Gillispie signed Jordan, a 6-foot-11 center, to play for Texas A&M. When Gillispie took the Kentucky coaching job last week, speculation arose about Jordan following him to Lexington.

"There's no truth to that," AAU coach Byron Smith said. "I know that makes for a great story. But no one from this camp is going to Kentucky.

"He's a loyal kid," Smith said of Jordan. "Once he gives his word, he sticks to it." Jordan has spoken to new Texas A&M Coach Mark Turgeon, Smith said. The two hit it off. Jordan will not seek a release from Texas A&M to play for Kentucky.

Jordan, whom the Prep Stars recruiting service rates among the top 12 prospects nationally, also had offers from Arizona and Connecticut. "At the end of the day, he's a Texas kid," Smith said of Jordan, who attends high school in Houston. "His family will be close" to Texas A&M. ... "Family takes precedence over Billy."

Smith vouched for Gillispie's coaching abilities and predicted a bright future for Kentucky.

"That's my guy," Smith said of the new UK coach. "I love him. ... I'm a basketball junkie, and so is he. He's going to spread some magic in Lexington."

Speculation about a possible transfer arose when Jordan did not write Texas A&M on a form he submitted for the Derby Festival game, a high school all-star game that will be played Saturday in Louisville.

Jordan left that space blank. Smith said it was a "simple mistake," not an indication of Jordan's wish to attend another school.

Brick Oettinger, an analyst for Prep Stars, said Jordan was a top prospect.

"Probably the best recruit Texas A&M has ever gotten," Oettinger said. "Ever. He will end up being, I suspect, a very good NBA player."

Yet, CaptMike doesn't ignore this douchebag...

Where's leemajors to attack the kid's loyalty?

Where was leemajors when Richard Justice said Turgeon was loyal? Oh, yeah - watch reruns of the 6-million dollar man.

A&M doesn't have a point guard? Donald Sloan has higher expectations than Acie Law IV. And Augustine really proved what he could do in the tournament. With Jo Jones in the post with DeAndre Jordan it's going to be the next best thing to Duncan and Robinson in the late 90's!

My bother played a pick up game with some guys once, and there was this really tall kid there. It was in Houston..what was his high school?

Oh, and if Ohio State loses Oden, they have another 5 star center coming, so dont be feeling sorry for them. Google Kosta Koufos.

Jordan to Stay at Texas A&M

DeAndre Jordan The Texas A&M basketball program will keep its top signee under former head coach Billy Gillispie.

Seven-footer DeAndre Jordan, from Christian Life Academy in Houston, tells FOX 26 Sports he met with new Aggie head coach Mark Turgeon for 90 minutes Sunday afternoon.
"I've decided I am going to stay at Texas A&M next year and honor my committment and I will be there June 1st for summer school, " Jordan said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports.

Jordan says the meeting with Turgeon, which took place in Houston, went a long way toward him deciding to honor his committment to A&M and not ask for his release.

"It was real important because I didn't know anything about Coach Turgeon. A lot of the players at Texas A&M called me and told me all the things he was about, that he was a good guy, but I wanted to see it myself. So I met with him. I liked what he was talking about and where he is taking the program and that convinced me, " Jordan said.

Jordan said it meant a great deal to him that Turgeon would come to Houston and spend an hour and a half with him.

"I kind of felt a little important. That he would go out of his way to come down here and meet with me and my family, " Jordan said. He told me "he was going to continue what coach Gillispie left behind at Texas A&M." Gillispie is now the head coach At Kentucky.

During his senior year at Christian Life Academy Jordan averaged 26 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 blocked shots.
