Spurs' record against the West is only one game behind Dallas' record against West. If SA could just have had an average season against the crappy teams in the East, they would have HCA in 2nd round locked up. Can anyone explain why SA plays so horribly against the lowly Eastern teams?

Boredom.

Well, their boredom might cost them a round 2 victory if it goes 7 games and Phoenix wins game 7. We all know that the Suns can not beat SA in SA, so if Spurs lose game 7 at Phoenix, then I hope they learn their lesson about boredom....yes?

This proves my statement that the only difference between Dallas and SA is that Dallas beats the crappy teams.

So basically I need to put money down on our next game against a western foe. Jim is the antilock.

please.

The way the spurs play defense if the spurs played phoenix it would'nt even go 6.

but you thinking the spurs can't do it makes me confidant the spurs will win.

:wtf

Dallas is 23-8 versus .500+ teams. So, I guess you're logic is bullshit.

Dallas vs next top four in West 8-5

Dallas vs top four in East 7-1

He said "Dallas beats crappy teams." He didn't say "Dallas _only_ beats crappy teams."

It's true that his statements are stupid, but your interpretation of his stupid statement was stupidER.

Shit, Jim is trying to do it again.

Of more relevance

Records vs. West
Mavs 36-10
Spurs 35-11

Records vs. East
Mavs 27-3
Spurs 20-10

The reason the Spurs aren't in the running for the #1 seed is because of their record against the Least. :madrun

Interesting stat. If not for those recent three meltdowns against the sewer rats of the East and some bad play on the Rodeo Trip, the Spurs wouldn't be looking up as far at the Mavs. I guess the only bright star in our games against the East have been those two against Detroit, since I do believe we snapped their win streaks at around 6 games each time. A six game streak might not seem that important when the Mavs hit double digit streaks twice this year, but what you have to understand is a win streak is about building momentum, and if you can snap a streak when a team is trying to build momentum, you're probably playing them at their best.

The record against the West is still pretty interesting though. It's good to know we're right there with the Mavs against conference foes. Recent wins against Utah, Denver and Phoenix have me amped for the playoffs. I'm looking forward to the upcoming matchup with the Mavs again...I think the coaches will treat it as a playoff warmup rather than a rest game.

Actually it was three times

This is true if you catch them while they are building momentum, howeven if you catch them later in the streak you can actually catch them when they are vulnerable. The longer a streak goes on the "sloppier" a team gets.

I don't think the upcomig game will be played anything like the playoff games. Teams will not "tip their hand" in this game. I would expect Elson to get a food poisoning or suffer a mild sprain or something to keep him out of the game.

I don't think that the Spurs play against the weaker Eastern teams mean anything in the long term. They will not be playing the Celtics or Hawks in the playoffs anytime soon, as so they will not play a team that they should concider "Lesser" past the first round. i don't think that Focus should be a problem.

Of course, if they look too much at the recent win vs the Suns they could get complacent, I mean, Yes their defense worked, but so did the Suns and the Suns defense hardly ever works.

Duncan was taking a break this season until recently. MVP Duncan is just strating to show up.

In terms of Dallas this years Spurs, with Elson and Vaughn and hopefully a healthy Parkerr are much better suited to match Dallas than the Spurs of Van Exel, Nazr and Rasho.
