Hell, I think the Spurs might just be at a point to let nagging injuries heal themselves with rest, but I'm sure TP would have to be physically restrained from playing if he thought he could go.

IIRC, Fred (who is either French or speaks it) listens to Tony's radio show and provides updates.

Sit him until the playoffs. We can win without him, so if the Suns lose it won't hurt us. If the Suns do drop a game or two, then we can insert him for 25 minutes per game to see if we can pick up the HCA.

he has said he will play tonight and his recovery is fine

He twisted his left hand little finger at teh end of the Warriors game.
It's not a big injury and Parker should play tonight.

And according to TP, Barry should be back tonight and Horry in two games.

Yes! If Barry comes back hot and Finley stays on course, we will be practically unstoppable.
Let's see.....
Parker - AI
Finley/Gino - Blake
Bowen/Gino - Melo
Duncan/Elson - Doesn't matter, though Elson on Camby unless Camby lights him up. I'd almost prefer that anyway, Duncan is a very heady double-teamer and has quick hands. Camby gets frustrated on double-teams if memory serves and tries to force shots.
One thing about the Nuggs.... GO BIG. Aside from Camby they don't have any great rebounders, and Bowen should be able to box out Melo well. Beat them into submission with our bigs and move on to the Suns in round 2 after 5 games.

I put Duncan on Nene.
Last game, Nene killed Elson in the post.
Elson is a very poor post defender, Camby who isn't a post player is a better matchup for him.

Denver rebounds 30% of their misses and 69% of their opponents misses, and their opponents do the same. Basically, they rebound exactly as well as their opponents.
Spurs numbers are 26% and 72%, but the opposition grabs 27% and 73% of rebounds, which means their opponents grab a slightly higer percentage of both offensive and defensive misses. Put another way, the only reason Spurs get more rebounds is because their opponents miss so many more shots.

Are you sure ?
Spurs numbers are 24.4% and 75.4%.
And Spurs are the second best defensive rebounding team in the league, only Houston is better.

Didn't Tony miss the WC with a broken finger? I don't recall if this injury would be to the same hand/finger as the previous injury. Anyone know?

And Spurs are the second best defensive rebounding team in the league, only Houston is better.Well, they may be the second best in the league in defending rebounding rate, but still their opponents get defensive rebounds at an even higher rate. Which means they are a crappy offensive rebounding team.

82 games number are strange because when you do the calculation you don't find that. Maybe they count team rebounds.
And you're right Spurs a crappy offensive rebounding team (they are 27th).
Pop says it's because of the focus on transition defense but it's too because our bigs aren't good offensive rebounders.

And you shouldn't be worried anout this injury.
Tony has only speak about it because a fan has noticed it when TP has signed some autograph after the game. He said that it's was just a little sore after the game but he is fine now.

Pop DOES stress getting back on defense. I think it might also have something to do with 2 starters, plus both of our tandem centers shooting over 50% and the Spurs shooting 47.4% as a team. There just aren't as many O rebounds available as some teams might have.

Offensive rebounding percentage has nothing to do with how well you shoot. It's just the percentage of your own missed shots you rebound. So getting back may have something to do with it. But the teams ranked below the Spurs are Sacramento, Phoenix, and Toronto. And you know Phoenix isn't trying to get back on defense.
