Sometimes people want a new challenge.

But I don't think he goes.

The article said Bennett would be seeking a front-office makeover with talented guys....but whether they'll get any interest is another story.

I don't think Buford goes, but Presti may if he feels it could mean a promotion.

Damn it, one of the problems with success is people come take notice and pry away your best assets. (Witness: The Cleveland Cavaliers, with Danny Ferry and Mike Brown) Grrr.

Well since Buford was the brain child who talked Pop and Tim out of drafting Josh Howard and also overruled Pop when Pop wanted to keep Raja Bell ever Derrick Dial, I don't think he'd be too big of a loss. Presti would probably be the bigger loss.

Agreed.

Let RC go, and let Presti take over his duties.

I don't know what R.C.'s thoughts are but why would he go from a championship team to rebuilding? Ego. Show that he can do it on his own without Pop. The challenge. Cash.

Seeing how he is from A&M likely he will want to stay here since it's "home".

My statements from the other thread:

I really kind of Hope RC goes, and Sam Presti is promoted to his position.

I hope PJ Carlisimo gets another job, and Pop gets some fresh coaching voices in here, that aren't afraid to tell him to take his small ball and shove it.

If you think the spurs are tight lipped about player contracts what do you think they are like about management contracts? I don't think anyone has any clue about RC's contract.

Getting rid of RC has been tossed around by a few here. Many have wondered about RC's contract negotiating ability, and his piss poor judgment on passing on Josh Howard when both Duncan and Pop were at the very least intrigued with him.

The best hope is that he "moves on" and takes another job like the one in Seattle.
