'Burglar' caught on the hop
A burglary suspect has been caught red-handed but only after his artificial leg let him down.
Gregory Daniels was captured by police after his prosthetic leg fell off as he tried to flee, reports Metro.
He and an accomplice had been seen allegedly stealing from a market in Pomona, California.
The pair were accused of using a pick-up truck to unbolt an ATM machine and drive it away.
An anonymous caller reported them to police, who chased the pick-up truck through the streets.
Daniels' partner apparently leapt from the truck and fled.
But when 48-year-old Daniels hit the ground, his leg fell off and stopped him in his tracks.
A Pomona police spokesman said: "Daniels was on the ground near the vehicle in an attempt to flee from officers. He was unsuccessful, as his prosthetic leg fell off."
The ATM machine was recovered, and Daniels has been charged with burglary. Officers are still hunting the second man.
