Please check for any script errors, typos, or whatever for me.

Thanks.

The questions are weird trivia related to each player on the Spurs roster this year.

The law of random variables came into play, 15 questions, 4 choices each, only 3 I geniunely knew, so I got the 3 I know + 1/4 of the remaining (3) = 6.
BTW, these are tough tough questions.

I got 6 right: questions 1-4 and #6 and #11 - guessed on all of them, except the first which was obvious.

Hard quiz Kori.

04-13-2007, 09:59 AM
man I thought I did horrible with 7/15 but seeing other scores my ego doesn't feel quite as bad. Truth be told 2 of the questions I got correct were complete guesses.

angel_luv
04-13-2007, 10:06 AM
Darn it! If I would have followed my instincts, I would have guessed three more right. Boo!

Took me four tries to get 100%

it sucks, i only got 40% right. there's no other explanation.

4/15. Not so bad as I thought it would be.

04-13-2007, 12:41 PM
Got a "Boooooo" as well. I only got 3 right, and truth be told, I really only knew 2 of those, so the 3rd was a guess.
Whew...that was tough. I think I need to take a nap following that.

mardigan
04-13-2007, 12:42 PM
I got 4 right, and as someone else stated before, i guessed on two of them, nothing wrong with the quiz except its way to hard

Kori Ellis
04-13-2007, 12:43 PM
Good. It's supposed to be hard. :lol

All the other ones, you guys kept getting 90+%.

Number 13 is missing a question mark.

I sucked it up on this one - only 40%.

Who is the question about? The questions are randomized each time, so #13 doesn't tell me anything :)

The one I messed up on was the 3PM....I understood it as Finals....and not playoffs....I would've got seven right :rolleyes

Damn Kori! Those are obscure to say the least! I usually kick ass on these trivia q's. I got boo'd!

No errors and I don't see any spelling problems. Then again, I don't know how you spell some of those former Netherland players names.

cherylsteele
04-13-2007, 04:36 PM
I only got 2 correct......if we based it on this quiz, I would be smarter than a 5th grader.

Tony Parker was selected by the Spurs with the 28th pick of the 2001 NBA Draft. In the 2005-06 campaign, Parker become the second player in NBA history to average at least 18.5 points, dish out at least 5.5 assists and shoot better than 54% from the field in a season. Who was the other player to accomplish this feat?

Kori, this is nitpicking....but it should be Parker became, not become. I knew what you meant.
I still would have missed it.

Samr

You're going to hate me......

Question: Francisco Elson signed with the Spurs in the summer of 2006 after three seasons with the Denver Nuggets. Elson was born in the Rotterdam, Holland. Which former NBA player was not born in the Netherlands.

Correction: last sentence needs a question mark, not a period.

Question: Bruce Bowen was signed by the Spurs in the summer of 2001. Bowen played in only one minute of one game his rookie season in 1996-97. While on the court in that one minute, what single statistic did Bowen collect?

Correction: last sentence, right after the comma, change "what" to "which." "Which" is more specific, because it asks the reader to chose a statistic from the following given group, as opposed to "what single statistic [out of all possible statistics]."

Question: The Spurs signed Brent Barry on July 15th, 2004. Brent has three brothers who have all played professional basketball. Two of them are Jon and Drew. Who is the third?

Correction: Change order of the second sentence to reflect proper structure, "Brent has three brothers, all of whom have played professional basketball."

Question: Tony Parker was selected by the Spurs with the 28th pick of the 2001 NBA Draft. In the 2005-06 campaign, Parker become the second player in NBA history to average at least 18.5 points, dish out at least 5.5 assists and shoot better than 54% from the field in a season. Who was the other player to accomplish this feat?

Correction: Change the second sentence to reflect use of the past tense, "Parker became the second player...."

Question: Fabricio Oberto signed with the Spurs in the summer of 2005. In a game in November of 2006, Oberto went 11-for-11 from the field against the Phoenix Suns. Who holds the NBA record for most field goal attempts in a game without a make in NBA history?

Correction: Omit "in NBA history" from the last sentence, as "the NBA record" already implies that the feat is historical. Also, I am not sure here, but do you actually mean to say "Who holds the NBA record for most field goal attempts without a miss?" Maybe not.

Question: Tim Duncan was selected by the Spurs with the first pick of the 1997 NBA Draft. He had a career-high 25 rebounds in a 67-65 victory over the Miami Heat on February 1st, 2003. Who had the second most rebounds for the Spurs that game?

Correction: Second sentence, change "victory over" to "victory against." You don't win over (on top of) someone, you win against them.

But I scored a 3 out of 15, so take the above corrections with a grain of salt.

I love Tony Parker

^^^Because it is published, available for public consumption, and it has Kori's name and face to it. In the professional world, especially in the world of writing and publishing, "what's on the inside" does not count at all. What counts is if your product is unique, compelling, inspiring; something that makes readers what to subscribe to YOU. Your product is your reputation, and you must guard it at all costs.

It is not called English class. It is called taking pride in your work, and having it will take you far.

No, I meant what it says .. without a make.

Correction: Second sentence, change "victory over" to "victory against." You don't win over (on top of) someone, you win against them.

"victory over" is proper in sports writing (according to guides/books).

You are definitely correct about the other things. I'll change them later tonight.

Thanks again.

I'm not really up on Britney Spears trivia... :rolleyes
I thought Spears was from Louisiana

Kori:

Couldn't you have put Bo Diddley as the answer since he was born there as well as Spears? McComb should be famous for Bo and not Britney.

Wow, that was tough. Got 7/15 and only due to the law of averages. I also thought Spears was from Louisiana.

And yes, Kori asked for input including typos, so lay off Samr. Good job!

Everyone here always gets high scores on the quizzes, so I had to make harder questions.

Sorry for booing you :lol
One reason for some of the higher scores on past quizzes is that early posters would put in some comment like "I forgot what Sean Marks looked like" or such--and later quiz takers could pick up on the info.

Of course, I NEVER would do such a thing.:rolleyes

So did I. Kentwood, LA to be exact. That question really threw me.
