By Sunday the FO should decide..."hmm..we're obviously losing and WON'T GET VERY FAR AT ALL in the post season with squad, almost ZERO chance of advancing past the first round...those draft picks sure looking mighty tempting..."

the only reason why they wouldn't tank is that it reflects badly on Kobe's legacy..

To miss the Playoffs with a record of 34-48 or whatever, to get in as seventh seed to drop a series 3-1, and then to miss the playoffs again!

throw smush in the garbage...trade kwame for someone better suited to learn and play hard...cross your fingers that everyone stays healthy next season (a big part of this year's problems). draft picks are not what this team needs, not more youth...they need more experience guys, you already have some young talent in bynum and walton

I think you guys should just tank the season, and get some nice draft picks. Put some REAL talent around Kobe. Get a head start at looking to make trades. You're squad would just be wasting the other Western Teams time. :lol and in the way of a very hungry Golden State team.

They could have gotten Kidd for him.

He has potential, but the jury's still out. He had a few great games with Kwame out, but that was until the defenses wised up on him. I think he had the same flashy glimmers early on in the season (just like Oberto did! :lol)

But nah, The kid is getting mentored by Kareem, so if he can be decent as he gains more experience, maybe it was a good gamble.

He has talent and potential, but Amare did more than hes doing a couple years ago. I think it was a smart move to hang on to him, even though they need a point guard. There will be a good FA pool and a deep draft. Choose wisely Lakers. Who knows they may be a lottery team.

I knew Smush wasn't an NBA player after a game last year against them. We won in LA with Finley and Manu making five threes each. When interviewed after the game, the reporter asked him about it and he said that the three point shooting of "Finley and...Rick Barry" gave them problems.

That, my friends, is someone who is just frighteningly too stupid and unaware to be on an NBA court. Not only does he confuse Manu with Brent, but he confuses Brent with his dad. Doesn't strike me as a guy who pays a lot of attention in the film room, to scouting reports, or on the bench.

Yeah, that sounds pretty oblivious or stupid. You don't even have to be a player paying attention to game film, scouting reports, any avid fan wouldn't make that kind of mistake.

Then again, that Smush didn't sound too bright when word got out about his little tiff with Phil Jackson. Shocked that Phil would even consider not starting him every game :lmao
