i think the Mavs will get blown out of this game, and i will go further to say that they will lose in the first round in seven games. Dirk is NOT a leader, and when the pressure mounts he will choke. the Mavericks 66 win season doesnt mean anything. they lost last year in the Finals and will continue to come up short.

they are probly the worst team in their state

Even though im a warrior fan i gotta say those comments are pretty ridiculous. Bayless did say today on cold pizza that the warriors would take the mavs to 7 games but i generally disagree with most everything bayless says. I just want to get in the playoffs 1st and if we do make it we might not even play the mavs. I have read on espn that cuban said they would rest players for this game but its not his call.

Haha, what warranted this? I like Golden State. Why would you want to F that up?

Warriors suck on the road, 11 - 29.

They'll go down 0-2, maybe split in Oakland, then lose 4-1 or 4-0.

It also will help them get used to the way Golden State plays which I think is the key to beating Golden State. Even if they lose they could take in some ideas on how to beat them.

Rest the starters dont try to win this game. NO NO and NO!! If someone gets hurt I am going to go apeshit on Avery. We will get ideas on how to "play them" in game 1. Fact is no matter what way we spin it, the Mavs road to the finals is much tougher then last year. Rest the starters get ready for Sat or Sun!

I expect Dirk, Howard, and Terry to all log 30+ minutes for this game. This team has too much pride and isn't really secure yet, and they shouldn't be considering the biggest Finals collapse in NBA history. They don't want to go 0-3 vs GS on the year. Before winning against SA, as far as playing the top West teams, they had lost their last 2 vs Phoenix, and their last game vs Utah. They were on the way to losing to SA, but beat them...with Duncan ejected. SA's top players all logged in a lot of minutes too, but SA was still playing for the 2 seed.

They have too much pride to not play their starters against GS.

A team that had the #1 seed wrapped up, playing in its 80th game of the season, not only played their top 3 guys 30+ minutes, but had Dirk in even after Duncan was ejected, so they could get the win. That just makes them look even more weak. I've officially lost all respect for this team. I hope GS takes it to them tomorrow night and in the first round, if they meet.

So the mavs should figure it out than? Similar to the rockets series 2 years ago? Dallas lost the first 2 games at home and it took everything out of them to eventually figuring out Houston. The Warriors will hold nothing back as they are desperate to get into the playoffs.

I've read alot of your posts and kept my mouth shut just because they are too idiotic to comment on. With all of your posts sounding pretty much like this one, you have to come to the conclusion that you are obviously insecure about something. I'm not even so sure it's about your team. Any problems in your life we should know about? Does your mom not give you enough attention? Has anyone told you that you have alot of hostility pent up inside you? You need someone to talk to? Why blow your load and give the Warriors a chance to gain even more confidence? Their confidence is through the roof when they play the Mavs already. Let the serious games begin with 2 in Dallas...

That makes me feel good...If you had to wager money in Vegas, figure out which way Skip is leaning and then run, don't walk, in the opposite direction. The Dubs give the Mavs matchup problems and fits for sure, they have the better backcourt, but playoff basketball is about who is better defensively and can execute better in the halfcourt: that's Dallas. I often wonder if Bayless actually believes what he says or is just playing the wrestling role of a heel.

All that said, when a team beats your four times in a row, you can't sleep on them or take them lightly. We'll have our hands full with Golden State.

Of the two LA teams and the Warriors, I'd rather have one of the SoCal squads. But if you can't beat the Warriors, then you're not a title team. So avoiding them is irrelevant. Suns have the lead going into 4th (74-71). Nash, Amare 25 minutes, Bell 27 minutes, Marion 21 (because he was stinking up the joint), with a quarter of fight still left.

No suprise, since D'Antonio even worked his players hard in the All-Star game.

Anyone know if Dampier is good to go (is he practicing normally?) ?

I'm pretty sure that he's fine. Avery's just making sure that he's 100% for the playoffs. If this is any indication at all, Dampier lives on my street and when I saw him loading stuff into his SUV this morning, he appeared to be fine.

Findog
04-17-2007, 10:51 PM
I honestly think that it's the fans who concern themselves more with jockeying and jostling for seeding position than the coaches and players. If Avery goes all out to "send a message" that the Mavs are better, he risks tipping his hand on how he would execute and attack in a potential series, as well as risking injury to a key guy...then the second-guessing would be "You idiot! You should've rested guys."

I think the Warriors give us matchup problems and the Clippers would be an easier opponent, but you aren't a serious title contender if you can't beat Golden State. If the Mavs are who they think they are, then they have no reason to be afraid of GS or any other team. Bring 'em on.

D'Antoni doesn't descriminate. He's going to make sure Marion gets his 30+ minutes too.

What a fucknut D'Antonio is. Once Nash breaks down D'Antoni will be exposed as nothing more than a motivator (who lets Nash call the plays).

Everyone already knows what all my opinions are. It's getting hard enough to keep up with reading here with all the Crawford/Duncan threads. As far as the JC suspension, there isn't a single person on this forum who disagrees with it. If you do, you don't appreciate high profile basketball games and the fact that people want to see athletes play and not miss out on that for bizarre ejections.

Small ball is hard to prepare for when you're on the second night of a back to back and the Warriors coaches and players are as rockhard and ready for bear as me after viewing a Jessica Simpson video. In the playoffs, it comes down to who can get stops and execute better in the halfcourt. JC robbed SA of the 2nd seed. Phoenix ends at 61-21 on the season. SA was on its way to beating Dallas with Duncan in. And if they had won that, they would have played their starters vs Memphis last night, and tomorrow night vs Denver. Easily could have gone 61-21 with the tiebreaker ending at the #2 seed.

That book about the Suns that came out a few months back pretty well documents the ego battle between Amare and Marion...those two dudes DO NOT like each other. i agre with MONO... I am concerned bc I havent seen the killer instinct in Dallas. Not so much concerned with the GS run as I am the run to the Finals overall. I havent seen anyone during the games, turn it on for those last minutes... and maintain that beast until the last few seconds run off the clock. I hope I see it during the GS/LAC series and it continues thru the run to the Finals.

i gotta agree with PONKY - please just let all the ref talk from LAST SEASONS POs go already!!! we can't complain about the refs in the Finals w/o it being a excuse, but Spur fans can for games 3 & 4 of the 2nd rnd of the POs last year? and i understand its yalls board - yall can say what yall want... but i think the pot and kettle have already met and both of them are just as black... like someone else said - Dallas executed more, aside from the reff'n... and I can admit the Heat executed better, aside from the reff'n. Now that we all get it... can we all find another excuse, please??

and - who cares, GS or LAC... if we can't beat em then Dallas isnt this elite team the media hails them as. I'm thinking 5 games, max 6. I wouldn't bet a dick on it, but thass only cuz I dont have one.

Good call...

Mavs will play their starters big minutes in a desperate effort to avoid having to meet GS in the first round.

Good call... :lol

Why would Dallas have to avoid GS if Dallas is the best team in the NBA?

That question isn't hard to answer. They're simply not the best, if they're playing to avoid a certain 8th seed.

So since they weren't playing to avoid GS, are they best?? :lol

I'll believe it when I see it, or at least see it on the box score on NBA.com.

You're dense, kid...

i agre with MONO...
