Ok, it was a little funny at first but now I'm starting to think that you guys are in deep shit if you face Golden State. I honestly think they love to kick your ass all over the court and have absolutely no fear of you.

I hope the Mavs don't screw this up. Your beatdown needs to come from the Spurs in the WCF.

GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER, Golden St. is for real. F'n 55-30 at Halftime ?

Yeah--none of those guys are playing.

I'm not worried about anything. GS means business when they play Dallas. Dallas can't just take the approach of "flipping the switch on" in the first round. They better figure out fast how to play with this team, or they're out in the first round. It doesn't matter who SA goes through to get to the championship. Beating a championship caliber team is enough to make a great championship run. So that doesn't include Dallas. A Finals defeat of Miami would be enough.

My prediction is that Dallas will get a couple of calls to go their way though, and win the series.

Even if Warriors do slide into the eighth position, it's wishful thinking that GS could beat Dallas in a series. But it would be frikkin hilarious if GS did beat the Mavs!

It would overtake the place of the biggest choke in NBA history - which also involved the Mavs.

During pre-game the Warriors announcers intimated that Clips may be pissed, and Dunlavey may complain, that Mavs aren't playing their starters because it could effect where Clippers end up in the standings. :lol Clips dropped 4-7 games end of season. They had their chance. They don't have a right to ask anything of ANY team 81 games into the season.

Silly me. I had to listen to the first quarter of the game Sunday on the radio, and 103.3 (ESPN Radio) carries the Mavs games. It was their play by play guys, not the ESPN Radio guys, who were handwringing about the Warriors.

I don't count wild buzzer shots in 1 game as making your team the championship contender. Spurs went on the dethrone the defending champion Lakers that year. Phoenix did nothing but take up space in the playoffs that year.

dude, while i agree an easier road is always nice (I'm sure dallas is happy they dont have to go through phoenix AND san antonio) we all know that dallas will take out GS in 5. this is the PLAYOFFS, a whole new beast. GS doesn't have the experience to push this to seven

Another thing to not discount.

The Warriors have guys that can get hot, and can win games.

Harrington. Davis. Stephen Jackson.

Jackson has big game experience and CAN knock down big shots.

The road for the Mavericks to the WCF will be wayy tougher than the Spurs's.

yeah, i know, especially after the mavs had to play the rockets seven games in the first round while the suns swept the grizzlies. if the warriors do make the playoffs and don't meet the mavs then i guess it would be pretty cool to see them match up agains the suns, that would be a very fun series but it would help the spurs because the suns will be zipping all up and down the court with the warriors. that's cool though because i think the spurs will beat the suns in six.

How ever did Golden State get to be a .500 team with so much greatness no one knows about? It's a Don Nelson team. Been there, done that. All of the little tricks and junkball he likes to throw out in the regular season won't cut it when the pressure is on and this relatively young team is staring at some virgin playoff appearances.

gotta admit though, he's cleverly sneaky...my favorite was during the first game of the season against the warriors, one of the mavs went hard on monta ellis and it wasn't that bad because ellis was getting ready to get up off the floor but don nelson told him to stay down on the ground until they called a flagrant

yup, this is true and dallas will be fine IF like you said, they don't get caught up in the run and gun offensive b.s....which is one of the reasons i'd much rather see the spurs than the suns, no need to feed those negative tendencies that linger from the nellie daze...not saying it will be easier to beat the spurs but avery can make more adjustments from game to game than just screaming at the mavs to slow it down and stop jacking up jumpers

I remember back in the 1989 season, the Lakers sat their starters for the final game of the season against the Portland Trailblazers. Stern and the league fined the Lakers for doing that, as many fans in Portland had turned out for that game, only to not have the chance to see Magic, Worthy, etc. play.

How are teams in the league nowadays getting away with it?

My prediction is that Dallas will get a couple of calls to go their way though, and win the series.

:lol

So the REFS will put them thru...wow Jeff...wow...

LEONARD says that ESPN Radio in Dallas sucks and that you're a fool if you don't listen to the Ticket nonstop.

:lol

Please show me where I said that you're a fool if you don't listen to the ticket non-stop... :dramaquee

ESPN radio in Dallas does suck IMO. It's a beating to get that much sports. Mike & Mike are a whip. Jen Engel?? Patrick is tolerable. Galloway is ok. Hansen is a whip...IMO of course.

I like it for the entertainment. Galloway is downright amusing. But yeah--he does have the tendency to be pessimistic about all Dallas teams.

Entertainment?? It's fine if you want sports, sports, and more sports, but I've never found it "entertaining" which is the reason I switched to The Ticket several years ago...

Funny this is a mavs thread.

Typical Allas fans changing the subject...

People still say "allas"?? :lol

Why aren't the Mavs trying today? They should have beat Golden State so they would have a chance to play the Clippers instead.

Morris Peterson got hurt in a meaningless game for Toronto. If that had happened to one of our regulars last night, I can hear the secondguessing now.

Dallas made a huge mistake in letting GS win last night. Had GS lost, then the Clippers would be their 1st round opponent, instead of GS. Dallas is 1-6 against GS since last year, so it only makes sense to avoid them in playoffs.

Yes.....but the Warriors are 3-0 this year....including when the starters played earlier in the season.

This kinda reminds me of when the Warriors beat the Spurs in 1992 (I think).

The Heat ??? That's your team ? Dude, take your 1 ring, cherish it, re watch the Finals from last year and thank God for it because it WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. Your team is finished.

Your conference is weak and your team is weak. If not for a Dallas team that choked and your team getting some obvious help from the refs, you would have been swept.

What a fucking joke. Dallas blowing a 2-0 lead and a late lead in game 3 still makes me laugh. :lmao

I know the head to head records of Dal/GS and how certain teams seem to match up with other teams, etc..

But I really don't think Dal cares who they play in the first round. GS may give them a run for their money in a couple of games but the Mavs should win in 5.

Nothing would've been decided had Dallas won last night...just like it's not decided now...

Let's not count last's night game...seriously. 1-5 with 3 of those losses being last second shots by the Warriors (including a 40 footer) and/or last second game winning misses by the Mavs after a hit by GS.

I wonder how the Mavs would deal with a game one loss to GS?

I remember how I felt when Stephon Marbury hit that game winner in the first game of the 03 playoffs.

They'd probably recover, but they should hide all the exercise bikes at the AA center, just in case.

I know you guys like to get on Mavs fans about bandwagoners and stuff (which I'm not btw lol). But the Heat are worse. You couldn't meet a heat fan in MIAMI before Wade came there 4 years ago. Hell, their arena rivaled Atlanta's in attendance.

Absolutely!!!

Instead of using his starters against San Antonio--where the Mavs gain nothing--they should have used them on GSW because then they would have been assured to be matched up with the Clips instead of the only team that consistently beats the Mavs this year.

This was a really bonehead decision--absolutely stupid.

GS vs Dallas. Yeah! unbelievable.

Nov 6 Dal. Won 107-104 - 3 pts (WC banner night)
Mar 12 Dal Won 117-100 - 17 pts.(Dirk suited up)
Apr 17 Dal Won 111-82 - 29 pts.(Dirk rests his ass)

the Mavs are the better team but surely Stephen Jackson's defense will definitely give Dirk a headache come playoff. time.

Seriously, I think your team is headed to an early vacation. Those "Gone Fishing" pics are coming. This Warriors thrashing was sadly familiar to what happened to us in 1990.

That Warriors team had:

Chris Mullins
Tim Hardaway
Mitch Richmond
Mario Elie
Tyrone Hill

They kicked our asses and then quietly sucked against their next opponent. Just like that.

I still think the Mavs have the talent to come back but it aint looking good. They look scared, flustered, nervous, out-played and dominated in some stretches.

no homer, they will be equally tough, the nuggets are on a roll and they're not going to roll over for the spurs, neither are the suns...both of those series will go six

All of the little tricks and junkball he likes to throw out in the regular season won't cut it when the pressure is on and this relatively young team is staring at some virgin playoff appearances.

GS should push them but the Mavs are too good to lose to them

yup, this is how i see it, gs will make a series of it but i don't see the mavs losing that series just like i don't see the spurs losing the series against the suns (ESPECIALLY considering how they've lost the last two games while trying to win, way to go d'antoni!)
