The Warriors are a scoring machine! Mavs better tighten up their defense and hope the two-headed center is injury free and ready to play some defense.

Predictions?

I say Mavs in 7.

looks like it, i don't think kobe will allow the lakers to lose this one even if it is close right now

if it's mavs/warriors, mavs in six...mavs/lakers, i'd like to say 5, although they play so much better in l.a., so maybe 6

I think the gsws have a good shot at forcing a 7 game series. I think it will be an all-out slugfest........but I feel that Dallas will pull off enough close wins to take the series. Each team will have a moster game pt differential wise and stun the other team, but each team will regroup and play some close games, and I will give dallas the edge in close games.

Mavs sweep.

It's all about matchups- Golden State's recent record against Dallas is no fluke. Dallas should try and control the tempo against GS, but they won't. they will run and push the ball just like they always do, which plays right into Nellie's hands. Golden State has the athletes to match Dallas- especially in an uptempo game. I would never pick a team as dominant as the Mavs this year to lose to an eight seed, but no way is this a sweep. This was not the first round matchup Dallas wanted.

I think that it will be a tough series, but Dallas will pull out every win. Golden State's only real chance is to have a game like they had in March against us, or for some bizzare flukes to happen in the final moments of a game.

THIS is why people can't stand you...you're a FUCKING MORON.

I thought you said Mavs win with some help from the refs, didn't you??

My prediction is that Dallas will get a couple of calls to go their way though, and win the series.

I honestly believe GS is the better team when its Dallas v. GS (GS is 6-1 over the last 2 seasons vs Dallas), but not the better team overall vs the rest of the league. Dallas will simply get more calls in the favor. That's just the way it goes. That's why Dallas will win in 6 or 7 games, if they meet.

or is Dallas a lock?

As long as we know the top 4 west seeds, I think we all know Dallas, Phoenix, SA and Utah will be there in the second round.

But GS is the better team???

The Mavs lost to the Warriors simply because when it's a game between those two, the Warriors are the better team.

Dallas is better than GS *overall*. But when it's those teams against each other, GS is the better team. How do I know? Dallas is 1-5 since beginning of '05-'06 season vs GS. Easy math. How do you argue with math? When it's just Dallas vs GS, GS is the better team when its those two vs each other, but not overall.

Oh wait...I don't even know what this one means!!

Warriors will take it 7 if they get in. Not saying they'll win.

:lol :dizzy

but wait...

All teams play poorly vs. the Mavs. It's a fact. They don't go out and own teams the way the Shaq/Kobe/Phil Lakers did. They're not in that league. Most teams that the Mavs beat, those teams beat themselves. How many wide open missed looks have you seen vs the Mavs? I've seen a lot. That is my reasoning behind not thinking the Mavs are the best team in the NBA. It's a psychological advantage they have, not a talent advantage over the league. Outside of Dirk, there are no brilliant players in Dallas. It's a damn fact. How many were *voted* by the league for the All-Star game?

so based on that, the Mavs should cruise to a title as every team they play will just plays like shit??

I'm so confused Jeff!! :lol

So I'll wait here while you dig up that article that says Golden State is the favorite. For that matter, find me any article where a healthy .500 team is the favorite over a healthy .817 team. Once you make the playoffs, all you need is 16 wins and you're the NBA champ. That's the easiest way to look at the championship.
The Warriors already think they have a shot at the finals. :lol

Nice try. Actually I'm not mad as I was expecting this to happen.

I'm all about the future and in this future I still see the mavs with no title after 27 years.

Yeah, we all expected it. Because the Knicks have no game. When your team gets over the .500 mark I might start taking you seriously.

The Great Fantastic

true, kinda like that other team on a roll up in denver

This is true. But, the Mavs/Warriors series is much more interesting. The Spurs have already beaten Melo. Yes, I know they now have AI, but Melo just isn't that scary. George Karl will try to "psych us out" again, but he's not a good enough coach.

Maybe GS is too excited to just be in the playoffs, but they truly have nothing to lose. Noone thought they would be there and now they are playing the one team that they match up with extremely well. The Warriors are hotter than any team right now.

The road to the Western Conference finals is fucking tough. If you don't come out with intensity from the beginning, you won't be around for long.

I don't think the Spurs or the Mavericks will lose in the first round, but I'm fucking stoked to watch both series. This is a great year for basketball.

GS will give them a good fight, but I expect the Mavs underrated D to make all of the key stops down the stretch and win this series in 5.

GS will win game 3 in a blowout, and then everyone will be talking about a possible choke. That is, until the Mavs win a hard fought game 4 before closing them out in Dallas.
