tanked their games tonight and played their scrubs.

The Mavs and Jazz played their starters 20+ minutes just to ink out another regular season win.....

WTF?

The Mavs needed to get Win 67 just to make their regular season that more badass. Since Dirk is on the cover of SI, they're doomed and 67 looks cooler than 66.

maybe they just wanted to make sure their players had a lil PT before this 3 day break before POs? I dunno. Not like the Mav starters, played the night before... Plus... Now they set another record... 15-1 or 14-1 on back to backs? lol... # 1 in NBA history... :reading ... interesting, no? lol... j/k.

I was a lil upset about the minutes, but I guess he wanted to secure that 67 W, but the Sonics?? :sleep it was the most boring game ever... I did like what I saw from JJ, altho he makes me nervous and I have to wonder if he's going to get a couple minutes here and there in the last final minutes of games during the POs. The starters did look a lil refreshed... so I have to give Avery credit. Plus, I was convinced he wanted GS anyway almost a wk ago. All the more reason to not play starters against them...

Exactly. D'Antoni is nuts and Nash isn't 22 anymore.

Ever since the Mavs clinched the top seed and started sitting starters, Avery's been saying that the last game of the season was going to be a 'dress rehearsal'--everybody back in the line-up, regular rotation, etc to get the team back in rhythm heading into the playoffs.

Yep. And you know that a game against one of the worst teams in the L missing its superstar really counts as a "dress rehearsal" :lol

I see the logic in it. It's not like Dirk, etc. played 40 minutes. They got a little workout in to keep them fresh for Game 1. In contrast, the Spurs' big guns would have had exactly one week off by the time they suit up for Game 1. Let's see if that pays off and they come in fresh but not rusty.
