I have been watching Luol Deng all season, and he really has taken a leap into the next level of stardom. This guy is a Josh Howard clone with a bit more range, and he is significantly younger.

As much as it pains me to say this, but I would trade anyone on the spurs other than Duncan for the guy. (The Bulls would probably not even make that trade if they won't give him up for Garnett though)

A plus side is that his emergence probably means the Bulls can't afford to pay Nocioni. He woudn't be a bad pickup for a lot of teams including the Spurs. Probably a pipe dream though...

I totally understand... but when I am watching NBA playoffs and drinking scotch sometimes my shitty puns are too good not to share.

They're glutted with young wings. I think they keep Deng, because he's younger, and if he gets a 3 pointer, he'll be ungodly.

Noccioni would be HUGE if we can steal him or convince them to trade for his countryman Scola to fill their post scoring need. He also rebounds at a higher rate than our centers. The one other thing I really like about Andres?
career FG% 44.5 3G% 36.4
career playoff FG% 49% 3G% 42%

Supposedly they don't think they can keep him.

A trade of Barry, Scola, and draft picks?

Gets em a guy that comes off the books after next year, a low post scoring threat, and ANOTHER draft pick.

God make it work.

Im sure he'll go to Miami, or the Mavericks.

Nocioni with a Spurs jersey is a pipe dream but if you want some reasons for dreaming :

1) Bulls owner is cheap. If Bulls S&T Nocioni, they won't take a player with a big salary back. Scola who will be cheap for three years is a good candidate.

2) Bulls have Thomas, Deng and Sefolosha : Nocioni cna be the od man out.

3) Bulls need height and low post scoring. They can get height with the draft and low post scoring with Scola. Bulls will likely get the 9th or 10th pick and with this pick they won't find a PF with a good low post play.

Unless they can get a very good cheap piece Spurs should keep Scola. If he's as good as the other core Argentines he could play well for them for 2-3 years or on a cheap contract or as a low post player be a very valuable trade piece down the road.

Bulls have an amazing core, young nucleus, which could get better if they end up getting that Knicks first round pick. Can you imagine? Especially if the Knicks end up getting a top 5 pick. That's going to be a sick team. Deng + Gordon + Heinrich + Thomas + a possible 2007 Top draft pick... add in Ben Wallace and a halfway decent coach and they'll be dangerous in the years to come :tu

Deng was fucking sick today. He is much better than Josh Howard. No joke. So much more range.
Um, Deng can barely make a basket from 3.

Deng has been amazing this season, he's been the most consistent player for the Bulls. I'm excited for them, and I'm not even a Bulls fan. For one reason or another I'm always on their side. I was really pullin for them against Miami last year, they gave them a serious run.

The trade in would work in the Spurs favor immensely.

What the Bulls would find attractive is Scola's Low Post scoring threat.

Yet, they can get that in the draft because the Bulls have pretty much assured themselves a top 5 pick because of the Knicks trade. Thus, they can nab themselves a younger player, more upside, and probably a lot more talented.

I don't think this trade occurs, but would be nice.

Um, if the ping pong balls drop by odds, Chicago gets NY's #9 pick. You haven't been keeping up with the standings, have you? You must also not have been keeping up with recent drafts, like maybe the last 10 years. There are maybe 1-3 surefire NBA stars in the average draft now, and a ton of projects. If you have a need RIGHT NOW, you don't fill it through the draft.
