Will Phil Jackson and the Laker fans come out and tag Bowen with an asterick now should he win DPOY?

Other scrubs that are more scrub than Bowen:

1. Medvedenko
2. Devean George
3. Chucky Atkins

Laugh all you want but this years title will be asterick worthy. I thought the Pacers were a better team then the Pistons. I still don't have that much respect for the pistons. The were not only down 3-2 to a Nets team that none of the top 5 WC teams would have had any problem with but also without that one blocked shot by Prince that was jawdropping where would that series have gone.

I disagree sick. If an accident had befallen Indy, then maybe but they put themselves in this situation with their actions. Whomever wins the title will have earned it fair and square.

Apparently, you were wrong. You didn't take into account the stupidity factor.

Umm. No. The build of the Pacers contributes to whatever success or lack of they may have. So they had a bunch of psycho's on there team and it bit em in the ass. A teams character is part of the game, in this case it worked against them, its there own fault no one else's. NO ASTERIX

Since no WC team played them in the playoffs, we don't know that. The Lakers should had one hell of a problem with Detroit, so who knows.

So, the winner of this year's championship will have an asterisk next to the title because an overrated defender got himself suspended? That makes a lot of sense. :rolleyes

That would be like saying that if Kobe was convicted of rape, the champion that year deserved a * because Kobe couldn't play.

Aggie Hoopsfan
11-21-2004, 09:29 PM
Sorry, even with this year's squads at full strength, in a 7 game series Indy would not be able to hang with Detroit.

The EC Finals is going to be Miami vs. Detroit. It was going to be that before Indy went stupid, and still will be now.

Whoever wins the award it will be by default cause he's out. But it will be earned though however.

samikeyp
11-21-2004, 10:40 PM
default? no because there is no guarantee he would have won it....but their will be less competition.

It's AK47's award to lose. Artest has simply lost a shot at second place.

timvp
11-21-2004, 11:44 PM
IF AK47 wins it, I will give up on the award ever being worth anything. Even Jerry Sloan has come out to saw that AK47 needs to play defense better and that his blocks are inflated.

Spurminator
11-21-2004, 11:49 PM
Well, I gave up on it after Mutombo won it for the 18th time in a row because he was the only defensive specialist any writers knew about...

Who is this "T Park"? :smokin

timvp

I said he's overrated. I never said he "stinks". Check the stats and apologize after you realize he isn't doing as much this year as he was last year.

Devin can't play if he doesn't get the minutes. I'm guessing if Barry continues to play shook in pressure situations that Devin will start getting more minutes.

T Park
11-22-2004, 12:08 AM
yes, then devin can give us those wonderfull missed jumpers and matador defense hes shown this season as well.

Barry shook in 4th quarters??

Hmm, musta missed the game against Philly when he nailed that clutch three there....

oh and the clutch three in the 4th against Boston.....

Nevermind those.

Kori Ellis
11-22-2004, 12:09 AM
TPark, did you see today's game? Barry was more of a matador than Devin has ever been.

timvp

Check his shooting the last three games of this road trip. I don't think he's above 33%.

No excuses.

You must have watched a different game against Philly. Barry was 0-for-5 from 3.

Yeah I saw the game today Kori,

the whole team stunk in the 4th quarter.

Ginobili looked pathetic.

Duncan looked gassed.

Why was Horry in instead of Rose or hey how about this, the guy that had 10 or 11 rebounds/?

The whipping boy of the Spurstalk.com forum Rasho Nesterovic who IMO, has been the most consistent and solid of anyone on this roady

Barry has a few bad games and now Devin brown, an NBDL player, should get his minutes.

Thats fantastic.

In LJ's defense, I was the one who said Devin would average 10/5 this season. We're also only 10 games in.

Why don't YOU go out on a limb sometime, Park?

2 points and 5 rebounds is consistent? Check the Boston box score.

The differnce between the pacer situation and anything else is that this is a direct cause of fan interactment. What if Rasheed Wallace goes diving for a loose ball and i kick him when he's on the floor? I guarantee you he'd do stuff to be gone for the rest of the season. This isn't like someone decided to rape/screw someone, drug problems, etc.... Where does it stop becoming losing ones control and a fan instigating it? If i threw a baseball at Bruce bowen on the court, yeah, i'd be arrested but so what, If that triggered Bowen to even SET FOOT in the stands he'd be gone now. This is a specialized incident that we the fans control.

Scoff all you want, it very well will be a blemish. Will artest be done for the postseason too? If not and they make the playoffs, its a mute point. But this is coming at a Spurs message board that still think the '99 season holds as much weight as the '03 season.

I guess you're right, that '99 season holds much less weight than the Timberwolves championship season.

It's not like the Pistons and Heat are getting their top three guys suspended for massive amounts of time. I figured it was going to come down to the Pacers, Heat, and Pistons in the east. After the suspensions there's one less horse in the race, but the east is still going to put up a very good team. I'm still picking the Spurs to win it all, though.
