Pretty good...even better is Nash....actually when he goes off for 9 40 point games in a row I'll give him props.

I am getting sick of not here about him and all about king james

amare is the reason the suns are doing so well
had he had a point guard early he would really be scary

Anyone still think soft-ass Yao is better than this guy?

Well, if Amare had a billion people overseas watching his every move, he'd get more pub like Yao- imo. :)

Bah Amare is over rated. No back to the basket game what so ever. All he does is face up somwhere between the block and the perimeter and drive to the hoop for a dunk. Which is all good until he start losing that athletism.... IMO he will never accomplish anything special in this league. Lebron on the other hand could and Yao may (im not asaying his better yet). Amare has a long way to go.

He finishes very well, and the suns made a huge move by getting Nash to spoon feed him.

all big men need a point guard

even ming

that is why steve was hindering ming's growth

That's exactly the same thing people used to say about David Robinson.

Amare Stoudemire is the truth. From the first time I ever saw him play, I knew he was going to be special. I haven't seen a player with his size, strength and athleticism since ... well, David Robinson.

He's going to be a top five player in the NBA if he isn't already.

James > Amare.

Amare is a stud. The thing about him is he still realizes he's got a long way to go. He's got an incredible work ethic, and brings new moves to the game all the time. I will say though, it was pretty fun to watch him dunk on Kobe the other night. :)

He sure as hell is playing like a Top 5 player in the league right now. Just destroying the opposition. Sure Nash is spoon feeding him, but it works both ways. Amare has the athleticism to pull it off consistently, which not all players could do (even if fed by Nash).

This has got me thinking, if Amare keeps playing like this.....can the Suns conceivably be better than the Spurs? I don't mean just scare them in the playoffs, I mean actually be a better team in the regular season?

He aint a top five. No way right now maybe in 5 seasons but not now.

ducks
11-21-2004, 11:51 PM
can nash keep this play up?

he is getting older

also nash had all that talent with mavs and I do not rember him getting all these 18 games assist

so amare must be something special

Nash didn't have no post player in Dallas like he does in Phoenix with Stoudamaire.

Amare is playing like a top 5 player right now, despite his penchant for 0 assist games.

He is doing his job, scoring and dominating underneath at an extremely efficient rate.

he just turned 22 or 23

Top five players:
Kevin Garnett
Tim Duncan
Lebron James
Dwayne Wade
Kobe Byrant
These are on averages alone.

Amare isn't even averaging a double double.

he did not get 18 that often as a mav

nash already has 4-5 18 assist games
and I rember him having a 12 assist game
just from my memory. I can do more research later if need be

15.7 PPG
11.6 APG

If you actually read my post ducks you would see that despite his 0 assist games I clearly acknowledge the fact that it doesn't matter that Amare is not getting assists. I am saying his scoring efficiency and output is MORE than making up for it.

It would still be nice to have some assists along with those stats though right?

Are you saying that on the basis of Nash getting more assists on Phoenix that Amare > Dirk?? Are you kidding me? If TD is the "Big Fundamental" Amare is his alter ego.

Amare > Dirk!? Amare=Drob?? I mean seriously?

If someone asks me right now to start a team with Amare or Dirk, I take Amare no questions asked.

You tell me ...

Do you want someone averaging 28.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.0 blocks who is shooting 57.6% from the floor ... or would you rather have someone who is averaging 27.3 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks while shooting 50.8% from the floor. And oh yeah, the first player is four years younger.

If you are starting a team, you take Amare. If you want to win right this second, it's a tougher choice.

You can't bring in percentages. Since Dirk shoots 20 feet farther than Stoudemire.

1st in Points per game
1st in FG%
1st in FG made
1st in FG/48 min.
1st in Points/48 min.
2nd in Efficiency ranking
16th rebounds per game
14th blocks per game

And all that on a pretty good team.
Right now he is looking like an MVP candidate, but then so is Dirk.

Meanwhile Nash is second in FG% which is quite an achievement for a guard and first in assists obviously. 16 points, 12 assists on .57% FG% and .47% 3PT% are Stockton-like stats.

Remember people...players like Amare and KMart need great PG's to heighten their game...it's happened for years...Look at Kmart now...where is he really. Amare is sick, but getting lob passes to you isn't going to be a career move. He needs to diversify his bag of tricks..who knows maybe he'll get a jumper...but I don't think I've ever seen him take a shot....

ducks
11-23-2004, 11:24 AM
he takes jumpers I saw in on the news take a 18 foot jumper and nail it
it was the suns highlight

Yea Medvedenko that is a great Point. Plus I think that the things that guys like shaq and Duncan bring to the table is their ability to make the people around them better players. If Amare conitinues to progress his game at the rate he has in the past he will be in line to win a couple of championships. Although his job is not to get assists it would be nice to see that element added to his game on a consistent basis. I Also want to see how he fares against some of the better defenders in the leauge, especially now that he has nash on his side. and just to throw my vote in I would rather have Amare on my team than Dirk.
