I have a job prospect in that city that looks promising, but I am unfamiliar with the area. Has anyone been there or know someone who has? I've searched the web for some stuff but hearing from people is always better. Next week I have a site tour so I will get a firsthand look. Thanks! :toast

Not unlike other Midwestern small towns, except higher redneck factor due to Ozarks. Hilly (obviously - Ozarks). Extremely white. Central Dairy has delicious fresh ice cream. Decent fishing nearby. Cold in the winter; will see some snow. Hot in the summer, but summer ends mid-August. Four real seasons, real fall color.

4 seasons? Not just hot and hotter like in texas? so far so good...and ice cream is always a plus!

What Extra Stout said. I have some family that lived there for a long time, but the last time I was in Jeff City was mid-90s. They live in Kansas City now, so I'm out of date. It seemed like a standard sort of place, not particularly large or obnoxious or good or bad.

What everyone else has said is pretty dead on. Used to go to a summer camp in the Ozarks.
