View Full Version : Are the heat fluke champions?

Chris Childs

the heat are indeed fluke champions, and its funny when people try to say the pistons in 2003 2004 were flukes, they were the best defense the nba had ever seen, and unlike the heat, they atleast made it back to the finals the next year with the spurs to 7 games, the heat were clearly flukes, given the title, and are about to be swept out in the first round of the playoffs to a team they should have lost to last year with 0 All Stars

The best team always wins in a 7 game series so I dont see how they are a fluke. This was a bad start but I still think they can comeback.

Good job by your gm isiah giving the bulls a lottery pick. :bang

Complete fluke? Not with the way DWade played in that series. If he was anywhere near the same level healthwise as last year, they wouldn't be swept (and I still expect it to take 5 games), and might have a decent shot at winning the series.

Would the Heat have had trouble against the Suns or Spurs? Perhaps - but since they both got beat by the Mavs, it's hard to say. Mavs choked that series away, and the Heat capitalized. That, sometimes, is how championships are won - doesn't make them less worthy. Heat still came back from 2 down to win 4 in a row - that's an accomplishment.

Yes, the Heat were a fluke. The Mavs should have won the championship but choked. The Heat were just lucky enough to be there to hoist the trophy.

But yeah, if you are a Heat Fan you shouldn't care. A ring is a ring.

Can't really call them fluke, especially with Wade's injury. They could have made it to the finals again if he was at 100%, but they would still have a tough time getting through the Pistons let alone the Bulls.

the simple fact that the Heat beat dallas by winning four in a row against those arrogant assholes, is not a fluke to me, thanks Heat :toast

Even though I still dislike snaq very much, it was sweeter to watch them humiliate the pricks any day.

The Heat were not a fluke. They are proving themselves as worthy champions this year after all the problems they went through. Shaq was out for the first 35 games. Then Riley sat out for 22 games....the day the coach comes back, Wade injures his shoulder. I think they show just how tough-minded they are to get back into the playoffs.

Biggest flukes in the NBA this decade:

1. The 2003-2004 Timberwolves (Made WCF, missed playoffs next year)
2. The 2004-2005 Seattle Sonics (Made lucky shots all year, became a top West team, missed playoffs next year)
3. Dallas Mavericks every year

No they put it together and got it done last year but this current squad has ZERO shot at winning anything in the future. They need to trade Shaq in the offseason and get as much back for him as they can while they continue to build around Wade.

Shaq can't even put a ball into the basket 2 feet away. By the look of last night's game, Mourning's the real MVP of the team. :lol

picnroll
04-28-2007, 08:24 AM
Heat were lucky to squeeze one out while Shaq was there. They had the good fortune of facing the no nuts Mavs. Team is a mess. Shaq is a shell, Walker, Jones, Williams, Mourning Paytons are ready or near ready for the scrap pile. Wade is going to have a looooong dry spell. Maybe he and his buddy LeBron can hook together somewhere. Did he get an option year built in likes James?

The Heat won it beat us so can't call them too much of a fluke. Wade was unreal that whole run he killed us then dallas.

The Heat took advantage of a terrible eastern conference and played over their heads to beat a team, known for playoff collapses, that started to celebrate their championship four games too early. It's a fluke, but they are still champs.

Well, at leat for one more game when they go back to being a laughing stock.

I'm pissed that the Heat are so lifeless right now, but at the same time makes me feel a little vindicated.

I don't think they were neccessarily a fluke, but they were definately playing over their heads, and got very lucky w/ Wade's never-ending amount of FT's (which he can't make now, karma :lol ), and the Mavs choking tendencies.

Miami was shit last year, got hot at the right time, and ran into the choking Mavs. Then they proceed to decorate their entire locker room with championship shit. They were probably the crappiest champs in a long time.

This year, they are shit once again, and by the glory and grace of Baby Jesus, they are about to be swept in the first round. They should not have reached the finals last year, and I am happy to see they will not sniff the finals this year.

As a Mavs fan ( and a very nervous one, at that) the Bulls just made my day with their sweep of the Heat. I must admit that I also really enjoyed seeing Wade returned to the status of mere mortal by NOT getting a call every time he had the ball.

Shaq is done. So are Alonzo and Payton. I don't think DWade is going to be winning any championships by himself in the near future. The Heat just need to be thankful that they were the beneficiaries of the Mav's incredible choke job.

Where did all of the Heat trolls go?
