I pointed out the comparison to Detroit last year and to Phoenix the year before, but I caught all sorts of flak for suggesting that just because you had the best record in the NBA this year does not mean that you are going to win it all.

This series may turn out to be a supporting example of that contention.

Right now, the probable series winner is still Dallas, imo.

However, does this team look like they are going to beat Houston and Phoenix or San Antonio?

Is this not precisely how Detroit started last year? They struggled against a team that they should have handled pretty easily? Then, they lost to the Heat in 6.

Guess the comparisons to the Chicago Bulls (which had a player named Michael Jordan on their team) were a little premature and the comparisons to Detroit and Phoenix last year were more apt. If Dallas loses game 4, their chance of winning the series is pretty remote since Golden State seems to own them lately, winning 7 of their last 8 games (regardless of location!).

Again, Dallas probably wins game 4, regains home court advantage and wins the series in 6. Then, they probably promptly lose to the Rockets or the Spurs, after that. If the Suns emerge from our part of the bracket, the overwhelming favorite in my view is the Suns over the Mavericks, by a lot.

By my math, that's about 14 %.

Funny fact - you gave six seasons there. Had you done seven, it would have been two of seven. (2000 LA Lakers, 67-15)
