First post here, so, hello everyone.
For those unaware, should the Mavs lose this first round series, they will set a new NBA record for the team with the most regular season wins that got eliminated in round 1 of the playoffs.
Record-breaking Mavs indeed!

I wonder if we can add some other records to the list? Something like:
- Longest playoff game choking streak in NBA history.
Anything else I'm missing?

Stop making Mavs threads. There are a lot about 100 of them already.

I think it would be the first time both the defending NBA champs and a number 1 seed where knocked out of the first round in the same year.

The Mavs would also be the first #1 seed to lose in the first round since they went to the best-of-seven format.

the last time the two finalists lost in first round was late 1940s.

If their series is over by game 5, then it'll be the first time the NBA will award an MVP TROPHY to a player who's no longer in the playoffs.
