Lets be honest, do we want a well rested Suns team or a beat up Lakers team? Go LAKERS! :cheer

Remember it's either this:

If the spurs and suns win tonight they'll both get the same amout of rest. So what difference does it make?

When will the first game between the Suns and Spurs be? *knocks on wood*

If the Spurs play well they win. If the Spurs don't play well they probably lose. Rest is insignificant at this point, at least as it pertains to freshness. Should the Spurs actually start to click, then rest could actually threaten their rhythm.

I would rather play the Suns, just because I think Phil Jackson is one of the few coaches that knows the Spurs and Pop real well. D'Antoni is a hack.
At least we have a game plan against the Suns... let Amare average 73 ppg, and shut down everybody else... has worked well for us in the past.

we'll still beat them :D

I'm not rooting for the Lakers so much as I am rooting for the Suns to have to go through a hard road to get to the second round. Why not give the Spurs an advantage by making them take the high road? And for those saying that rest does not matter at this stage, you could not be anymore wrong. It's not like we have the youngest legs in the league right now. The Suns are gonna come out just like 05 and try to run us up and down the court. Big difference this year is a healthy Amare. And there is a world of difference between rest and rust. I say go ahead Lakers, give them a beating for another game or two.

Yeah im cheering for the lakers in this series. I rather play this team than the run and gun suns. My hate for the lakers has really calmed down since they fell off in '05. Actually to tell u the truth i hate the suns and mavs more than the lakers at this point.

Spurminator
05-02-2007, 02:27 PM
There could be negatives either way... If the Suns series is extended and the Spurs wrap up tonight, we might be rusty for Game 1 of the second round.

Frankly I just want to get to the second round and get it started as soon as possible.

I want us to face Phoenix. SA has already had a boring series with the boring Nuggets. We don't need the boring Lakers.

Sure the Lakers would be easier. But I'd rather see an entertaining 6 or 7-game series with a tougher team, than to see a sweep with the Lakers.

I go Lakers over mavs any day. While la pisses me off atleast they have actually done something. But I am sick of the media and mavs fans making the mavs out to be something that they are not.

If by rooting you mean that I wish Phil Jackson would retire and take a vow of silence while the Lakers relocate to Newfoundland. Spurs can win against Suns or Lakers. First things first they need to finish off Denver tonight.

On the one hand I'd like to see this stretched to 7 games just so Nash is less rested.

On the other hand if you give the Spurs a few days off they might fall out of playoff mode again and take a couple of games to wake up.

Tough call.

Press Release, 8/6/07:

The Los Angeles Lakers have announced that they have resigned Sasha Vujacic to a 5 year contract extension for $28 million dollars.

"We think Sasha has proven himself to be a young player on the rise. His ability to shoot at a low percentage, not be able to stay in front of his defensive assignment and try and man kiss his teammates is the type of high level play that we feel is a perfect fit with where we are trying to go as an organization.

Sasha has proven himself to be more than competent in every phase of the game except playing. That is what we are looking for with our roster improvements in Los Angeles as the great signings of Vlade Divac and Aaron McKie indicate.

I would like to welcome Sasha back to our roster for the next 5 years! Cheers!"

And to think... the Lakers would have around ~$10-$12 million in cap space to go after a guy like Chauncey Billups had they not extended Kwame Brown for $9 million and given that contract to Radmanovic.

I would say the overwhelming majority of Laker fans are pulling for your San Antonio Spurs vs. Phoenix.

D up on those guys and show them how teams that play both ends of the court do it!

Spurs in 6, maybe 5
