yeah i preferred the original theatrical version because i felt the extra 30 minutes was too much with the over explaining, and the fact that they changed up the soundtrack ruined the whole thing for me.

but to each his own

supposedly dude didn't have enough money when the movie was being made to license the songs he put in the director' cut. i enjoyed the exta stuff, like the pages from the book. not sure which i prefer, i like how you had to piece stuff together in the original as well.

good soundtrack, good main actor and supporting ones in the family, the story just kinda sucked at some points though and left too many parts just wander off and never gave any closure on them.

I was intoxicated while watching it and had nightmares about that fucking rabbit for a week.

Stick to popcorn and a Coke.

overrated.....a movie that tries to be a "thinking movie"....funny how only teenagers and early 20's seem to like it, or I'm sorry "get it"

BEST MOVIE EVER.

I must've watched it 10 times by now, and I'll watch it many times yet. To really understand all that's going on I think you need to see it 4 or 5 times. It's one of those movies I pull out about once a year to remind me that there is good in the world amongst all the tragedy and confusion.

Some other movies like that:
Magnolia
American Beauty
The Big Lebowski

Also, the scene where the camera does a walk-through of the school to Tears for Fears' "Head Over Hells" is one of the great montages in film history!

This film is firmly aimed at 25-35s. It is essentially an 80s movie made with late-90s cinematic story telling techniques.

And Maggie Gyllenhal (sp?) has great legs. ;)

i just don't sympathize with manopause, and i had to turn magnolia off after 20 minutes.
