Mavs fans, if there are any real ones out there that know who Doug Williams is or that Jamal Mashburn the ESPN analyst played for Dallas or that Cherokee Parks isn't some national wildlife preservation that sounds familiar.

As a die hard Spurs fan from 1992-2003, I can tell you I've suffered through some bad losses like the Utah killings, the Houston Rockets Western Conference Semis, the Lakers debacles, .4, and the great Maverees series of '06.

But nothing, absolutely nothing will compare to the Sports hurt you are going through. Because no matter what happens from here on out, this loss will always stay there and be recorded in NBA history. No win will redeem you. There's nothing that can take it all away.

Your team basically left you high and dry with nothing to fall back on. They were flat out embarrassed and out played by a carefree 8th seed.

They were the first to lose a 7th game series to an 8th seed which is more amazing when you consider they were a legit NBA championship contender.

You won 67 amazing NBA regular season games and had the MVP of the NBA on your team!!!

It's time to let this fish go. Go out right now and burn everything you have related to the Mavs - my little ponies, John Starks basketball cards, Puff Daddy albums - because it's time to let go.

Focus on your xbox or the Cowboys. Take up high school golf.

Just forget the Mavs. It's not worth any more heartache.

There's no coming back from this one.

"2007 Mavericks" should be the end-all, be-all argument ender for a while.

Spurs fans are going to save this card in their wallets forever.

It's kind of like having 4 aces up your sleeve.

Cuban called the river green. Fair enough. 1 - it's not like I own it, 2 - I don't care, and 3 - it's true.

But 4, the river is still in the running for some playoff action.

Kris - don't forget the fact that they had 4 streaks of over 10 Ws in a row which has never been done before, and just adds to the disappointment. Personally, I think the entire Dallas metropolis should be ashamed of their team's pathetic effort. Sure, we Spurs know how to lose the hard way, but at least we never go down in a heap like these chumps, we fight to the end.

Do you think Cuban would consider trading Dirk now? If you want to build a championship contender, who'd take him though? I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole given the stink job he's laid every time he's under real pressure.

In the Mavs defense, they are Southwest Division champs.

We can't take that away from them.

Ok, for real, Mavs are screwed. Think about it. The team is as good as it's going to get in it's current form. There's any number of reasons why they are screwed and I could type until the Mavs logo is pink, but the main part is their superstar MVP wanted to pull a Rasheed Wallace when his team needed him the most. Instead, Jerry Stackhouse had to try to carry them on his shoulders.

But Dirk is their identity and who the whole team is built around and they were supposed to be legitimate championship contenders. It's still a 60+ win team, but they have to change because they can't get by Golden State in the playoffs. What do they do?

Nothing, they're screwed.

The Warriors won because their smalls could rebound and when Dallas had to go small, the Warriors were that much better. Dallas could make some changes that could make them better, and it wouldn't neccessarily take moving Dirk, but Dirk does need a post game, he's got footwork, he just needs to bulk up.
