I'd like to read everyone's opinion on Dirk's legacy. Preferably 1-2 paragraphs.

There are no wrong answers except for the wrong ones.

3 point shoot out champion baby!

That's true. There's no doubt about it, Dirk's got the hardware to backup his play.

Dirk has proven once again that he just doesn't have the right stuff.

All the lights out shooting during the season, all the great play. Doesn't count for jack shit if you can't do it in the playoffs when your boys need you the most.

This is me after watching Golden State tear Dallas a new one: :downspin:

That is all.

Dirk need to be a role player, get someone else to lead and retire as a 7 foot jump shooter.

Dirks' legacy?

In our eyes: Perennial choker

In media's eyes: yesterday's newspaper

In hometown's eyes : Humpty Dumpty

lol just goes to show you that our award system is dumb. Duncan would have been MVP if he had played like the way he used too. Oh yeah and Camby as the DPOTY WHAT a joke!!

Nothing short of a Finals MVP trophy will ever vindicate him after these last two postseason exits. Every bit as poor of a leader as he was good of a shooter.

I mean really I haven't posted on this board in a long time but I am so glad our Spurs can at least run 3 down when needed.

I guess its back to _allas again for the Mavs.

Spurs Bring the "DDDDDDDD" in defense.

:downspin: for you Mav Fan

Don't you have to reach greatness to have a legacy?

He will be just another soon-to-be-forgotten who had the talent but not the heart. Another one who chokes when the pressure is on.

All I can say it it's a good thing for Dirk and Camby these awards are based soley on "regular season". If you were required to actually do something in the playoffs to get them, the Spurs would have to build more trophy cases.

As I said earlier this week, how can Dirk be the "league" MVP, when IMO he isn't even the best player on the team. Josh Howard and Devin Harris are the only reason Dallas got to play again last night. I would say as a complete player, Howard is way over Dirk. But hey, this is a media thing and the media has hyped Dirk all season long. They would look stupid now not to go ahead and award him the trophy. And god knows, we can't have the media appear to be stupid.

This may be the series that scars Dirk (and the rest of the Mavs) for many years to come. It's hard to match their collapse in the finals last year, but by god they have managed to surpass that huge FUBAR. Shouldn't there be some kind of award for that?
