View Full Version : Cuban's quote
This is one of the most dumbass quote I've ever read :
"This is not like last year was, losing the finals was really painful. This is just the first round.''

well what else can he say right now
Anything but that.
Is it really less painful to be the victim of the most stunning upset in NBA history in the first round than losing the finals ?
He could for once show some class and not try to minimize his deception specially after their "we're on a mission, this year" motto.
But i guess class is something you have, or not.

If you were watching closely right after the end of the game, one of the TNT camera guys walked up on Cuban and I think he threatened the guy. If someone is good at reading lips then correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he said:
GET THAT CAMERA OUT OF MY FACE, I'LL FUCK YOU UP!
No joke.
Are you sure he wasn't chatting up ?
Seriously, Cuban is really embarassing Dallas. He's really happy to see all the cameras when things are doing well for him.
Like I said, absolutly no class. I maybe wrong but I think he has his part with mavs choking. A president is supposed to bring stability and assurance to his club, two things he doesn't privide.

You must have no time on your hands to make such an idiotic post. Of course losing in the finals in much more painful than losing in the first round eventhough it was to a #8. Having the title in the grasps of your hands then having it slip away cant be compared to anything else. Quit trying to rip cuban for every thing he says

The shock hasn't hit him yet.

So you're really suggesting that you prefer losing in the first round than in finals ? If you ask Dirk, Josh, Terry now : would have preferred losing again in finals or to be eliminated like that, they would have responded : hell yes, I prefer losing in the first round ! :donkey
Of course it hurts to lose in finals but reaching them is already some kind of accomplishment. There are a lot of really good players that never did it. Go tell them it's better to be eliminated in the first round than reaching but losing the finals. I guess AI prefers being eliminated now by the spurs than losing in finals...
At the end of your carrer, deception is still there but you also remember that you were there and the intensity of it.
I don't think yo ever really play real competition, right ? If yes, I wouldn't have like to be your teammate with that kind of mentality.
As for Cuban, he doesn't need anybody to rip him. He's doing fine all by himself. Sorry but as an NBA fan it hurts me to see such an unclassy behaviour which doesn't honor his sport. This is also why I like spurs, because that's a classy organistation.

I wasnt refering to losing, of course losing either way sucks, I was refering to what it take out of you to advance through 4 rounds and be minutes from taking a 3-0 lead in the finals to all of a sudden lose 4 in a row, there cannot be an worse feeling
Finals are a very special moment. At the end of your carreer, deception will still be there, but you'll also remembe that you was there.

I would think that losing in the finals hurts worse than losing in the 1st rd; however, losing in the 1st rd to an #8 seed has to be embarrassing for them. A totally different emotion.

I thought he said, 'Piss off'.

At some point last year Mav Fan had already guaranteed back to back championships and was disparaging the Spurs for their lack of the same. Making NBA history as the only 1 seed to be dropped by an 8 seed in a 7 game series isn't something that goes away.

I get your point but still, at least you were there and had a shot. That's sport, it ain't over till the fat lady sings. With time pain passes and you remeber the goods thing you did like during the spurs-mavs series.
Making NBA history as the only 1 seed to be dropped by an 8 seed in a 7 game series isn't something that goes away.
Agree.
This one can hurt you more deeply and structurally than you thought. The deception can appear to be smaller but the it can have more impact on the team who made history with this upset.

If he doesnt think it hurts more now, he is going to think it hurts 10 years from now when reporters still ask him questions about the biggest upset in playoff history...
No one remembers 2 years later who lost the finals...

it just depends on how you look at it. lose when you are so close (about to win a game to go up 3-0 in the finals) or lost when you should not be losing (first round to a team that's 25 games your junior). in the end, losing is losing. it don't mean a thing if you don't get the ring.

Definitions of shock on the Web:
daze: the feeling of distress and disbelief that you have when something bad happens accidentally; "his mother's death left him in a daze"; "he was numb with shock"

What did Cuban say to the camera (TNT) as he was walking off the court?

^ we got screwed as far as i can tell.
a guy like that only thinks we won or we were railroaded. nothing else could happen. he's not understanding that sports is not like business. in business, lots of people can win. in sports, only one can win (everybody else loses at the end). in business, you can't blow a lead that you've developed over a year in one week. in sports, you can blow it in 10 minutes.

I saw the exchange and I wondered what he was saying as well. It sure wasn't "let's have a beer and burrito after the game".
...1 seed to be dropped by an 8 seed in a 7 game series ...
maybe they can pull that off again!
