One thing for sure is that it didn't take the Mavericks long to fall off the sports radar screen. When their private plane touched down at Love Field at 2:20 Friday afternoon, the team was greeted by a throng of two fans. Two, neither of whom was wearing Mavs' gear.

What's what all the Benz cars and jeeps parked near the runway? Were the players' family members allowed to park on the runway to pick them up or were those vehicles empty (parked there by the players before they left for Oakland)?

The fans have deserted the Mavs. A simple check on Flightaware could have given them an idea of when they would comeback. They just didn't care. Enjoy your offseason Mavs.

Yeah, you just keep blindly following your leader mark cuban and say what he says.

How could last year be worse? At least at the end of last season, you still felt like you had a possibly great team. All the mav homers thought you got cheated. You had that angry "just wait until next season" fire burning!

But, this year has to really hurt! Not only were you beaten by an 8 seed. You were completely destroyed. It was so bad that this cannot be repaired and next year's outlook isn't nearly as bright as last year. Dirk didn't even get angry enough this year to tear up an exercise bike.....the whole team just whimpered and walked away like a beaten dog! Cuban's arrogance took a major shot. It couldn't be any worse than being a maverick fan!

Enjoy it ! You deserve it! Of all the mav fans I know......99% of them truly deserve to be knocked off their pedestal that they put themselves on. The other 1% that follow the mavs, but realize there are other teams in the NBA are welcome to join me in rooting on the Spurs. The rest of you are dismissed!

^ wow... okay. uhm, i dunno.... i never go "welcome the mavs" home... anytime. it's nothing i do - so it was no big deal to me to miss their welcome home. but uhm, honestly - i'm not hurt behind it as much as i am bothered with the total lack of effort from the squad...

in my mind - the finals loss was much worse... and it registered much worse... maybe thass just me. but i'm over the first round exit....

I wouldn't go meet them if they had won the NBA title. That's just something that I have no interest in doing. I doubt I'd go see a title parade but ya never know...I hope I have that choice one day. I think it's ridiculous to rate how big of a fan you are based on that kind of stuff.

Yeah. I'm the say way. I'm a diehard Cowboys, Mavs, Rangers, and Longhorn fan. But I would never greet them at the airport. Nothing against them whatsoever by any means but that has never interested me.

Nor would I go to the airport to do that kind of thing. That doesn't mean that there aren't hundreds of San Antonio fans to welcome the Spurs after a win or a loss. As such, it seems likely that there would be some Mavs fans to support their team.

Those kinds of little touches help the players get motivated and work harder after a defeat.
