No one knows.

You're welcome!

To be less flippant about it, we'll have a much better idea about who might be coming over in July during and after the Spurs' summer league.

Mahinmi will likely be a Spurs next year.

More specifically, he'll likely be a Toro or a Viper next season.

In case you've missed it, I've translated one week ago an article about Mahinmi future : http://spurstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1618824&postcount=809

They said too in another french article published today about Pau-Orthez that "Mahinmi is on his way out to San Antonio"

Thanks for pointing those out to me. With the D-Leauge rapidly expanding (and already short on athletic big men), Ian shouldn't have any problem finding playing time if/when he's sent down.

Yep, D-League can be a good place for him.
I hope that Austin will still be Spurs D-League team to have your reports on Mahinmi next year.

Baring a miracle, Pau will miss french league playoffs this year for the first time in 20 years. Mahinmi last game of the season will be on May 13th. I don't know if he will take some holydays but don't be surprised to see him in SA soon.

I hope that Austin will still be Spurs D-League team to have your reports on Mahinmi next year.I don't remember seeing it here, but George Gervin was named head of basketball operations in the valley in March, so the Spurs' affiliation might end up there. :cry

My stepfather still lives in the valley though, so I'll probably go down there whenever the Toros are out of town. :)

Are Mahinmi and Butler going to compete for the backup center job?

I don't think Mahinmi will be able to compete for something next year. His rookie year should be similar to James White rookie year between training, practice and D-League.

I expect Ian to be put on the James White plan.

How good can Mahinmi really be in the Spurs stat-wise? At his highest potential, I keep thinking of him as a 15pt 8 reb guy.

He never averaged that in Europe.I donīt see him putting those numbers in the NBA.10ppg 5rpg at his best game Heīll be able to average.

Since Scola never averaged that when he was 21 in Europe I donīt see him putting those numbers in the NBA.

Oh,now itīs a matter of age???
OK,lets compare Scolaīs stats at 21 with Mahinmi at the same age.
Or if you want lets wait until He is 85 ys old.Is that enough time to develope some balls??

Oh,now itīs a matter of age???It's a matter of several things, not the least of which is your being a blind homer.

Mahinmi wont even be like Elson(and he sucks)When He is at his best.I think He was the worst spurs draft pick of the last 6 or 7 yrs.

Yeah, and you think there aren't any good PFs in the draft either.

Very objective.

Since we are ALWAYS at the end of each round, and since two of them turned into All Stars, I'd say yes.
