Haywood Asks For Trade
8th May, 2007 - 12:22 pm

Michael Wilbon of the Washington Post -
Brendan Haywood, Washington center, has told president of basketball operations Ernie Grunfeld he wants to be traded this summer, according to two team sources and a league source with knowledge of the situation.

Haywood's relationship with Eddie Jordan is beyond repair, according to sources.

"He pretty much said that the relationship between himself and Eddie had gotten to the point where he didn't want to be in Washington anymore because he doesn't feel that he'll be treated fairly," the league source said.

I'd take him. Hopefully Oberto will opt out and sign somewhere else. If we trade for Haywood, and Horry retires while Oberto leaves, that can make space for Butler to get a chance in the rotation. If we can trade for him, or sign Chuck Hayes, that would fix our frontcourt problem. Also if we sign Mahinmi, he can be put in the James White project. And if this doesn't happen, there's always the draft. I like our options this year for the frontcourt.

Dude has withered in intrateam competition. He'd probably pick fights with Oberto.
