Roy is joined on the all-rookie first team by Toronto's Andrea Bargnani (57 points), Minnesota's Randy Foye (48), Memphis' Rudy Gay (39), Toronto's Jorge Garbajosa (37) and Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge (37).

A three-time Western Conference rookie of the month selection, Roy was the runaway winner as the league's rookie of the year, receiving 127 of 128 first-place votes (638 points) from a panel of writers and broadcasters. He led all rookies with averages of 16.8 points, 4.0 assists and 35.4 minutes in 57 games.

Bargnani, the No. 1 pick in the 2006 NBA draft, was third among rookies in scoring (11.6 ppg) and fifth in blocks (.82 bpg).

Foye averaged 10.1 points and 2.7 rebounds while playing in all 82 games for the Timberwolves.

Gay's numbers improved as the season progressed, including averages of 13.6 points and 5.8 rebounds in his final 24 games played.

Garbajosa finished the season fifth among rookies in rebounds (4.9 rpg) and posted a 1.22 steals-per-turnover ratio.

Among first-year players, Aldridge ranked first in blocked shots (1.16 bpg), third in double-doubles (six) and fourth in rebounding (5.0 rpg).

"We all knew Brandon would make it to the first team after winning Rookie of the Year, and while I am not surprised that LaMarcus was selected, it's validation for the excellent rookie seasons they both had," Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard said in a statement. "For the league to notice what we all know here in Portland is an important step to where we're taking this franchise. We're very excited for these two young men, and as good as they are as players, they're even better people."

Named to the all-rookie second team were Utah's Paul Millsap (36), Charlotte's Adam Morrison (35), Chicago's Tyrus Thomas (26), Minnesota's Craig Smith (21) and Boston's Rajon Rondo, Charlotte's Walter Hermann and New Jersey's Marcus Williams, who all tied for the final spot.
