Article Last Updated: 05/09/2007 07:11:46 PM MDT

Posted: 7:02 PM- Jazz guard Derek Fisher, who left the team before Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals, has been dealing with the discovery of a tumor between the eye and brain of his less than year-old daughter, The Salt Lake Tribune has learned.

Fisher was flying back to Salt Lake City and was placed on the active roster for Game 2 against the Golden State Warriors. The veteran guard was not expected to arrive in time for tipoff but all indications were that he would play.

The Jazz had excused Fisher for personal reasons from Monday's Game 1, Tuesday's practice and Wednesday's shootaround. Sources told the Tribune about Fisher's daughter's medical situation on condition of anonymity to respect Fisher's privacy.

Fisher is married and has four children, including infant twins Drew and Tatum. He originally learned about the situation last week, when he was excused from a shootaround, but said then he was waiting for all the information before discussing it publicly.

Warriors with the perfect opportunity to steal the game and petrius leaves the door ajar. Nellie has to get out of the zone and play man. Guard the 3 pt line.

The last thing I want to see is a FISH three.

Because I do not want to see the Spurs have to play them next round ... and if they should beat you like I think they would, I absolutely want nothing to do with them in the Finals. They're like the Cinderella team in the NCAA tournament. Everything is going right for them. They're playing soooo much better than they did in the regular season. A team that drops nearly 40 3pointers at a 40+% is scary.

Pistons < Spurs
05-09-2007, 10:46 PM
You would feel more comfortable facing us than Golden State?
Yep.

They already killed us twice this year.

But more importantly, the Spurs play structured basketball. You know what to expect, how to defend, and how to scheme against them.

The Warriors play such a discombobulated version of the game, you're never sure how to contain them. They'll do the unexpected more often than not. The amount of 3's they take ... and MAKE allows them to come back in any game you think your controlling them in. The Warriors are killers in this postseason.

Tonight the Jazz are +22 rebounds. outchooting the Warriors 54% to 45%. Are out shooting them at the FT line 81% to 68% ... and yet we're in OT.

05-09-2007, 10:46 PM
