Duncan has NEVER come back from down 2-1 in a series

I can only hope someone besides Duncan has the balls to show up big in game 3

Spurs never lost a Game 7 before last year. So what?

Dirk said if the Mavs lost game 3 ( or was it 4?) that the series was pretty much over.

Why are you trying to Dirk-up the scene?

I'm not sure if game three is must win for San Antonio. That said, if they loose the next three games then they probably don't have much of a chance to win the series.

duncan228

Dirk said it before game 4.

WTF is this "lose game 3" talk!?! Take your doom-and-gloom shit elsewhere. Maybe you'll have some supporters if that actually takes place, but that's bullshit to suggest some negative "if/then" scenario...clearly not a Spurs fan.

Completely disagree. I think if Suns take next game Spurs will play with the fire we saw from the Suns in game 2 and even the series. I DO believe the Suns will win in the end, but that's hope talking as much as anything. this is anyone's game.

Also don't forget, the Suns have a dreadful habit of relaxing after they win, just like you guys did in game 2. I honestly think this is a pretty even series and could go either way. Now that the Suns are playing D they are legitimate contenders. Quite fascinating actually. You have the ultimate defensive team also capable of great offense vs. the ultimate offensive team also capable of great defense.

I think Nash was right: I think the winner will be determined by strength of will.

did they change it to a 5 game format again? am I missing something?

I could have sworn this was a 7 game series. :rolleyes

Well, I do think the winner of game 3 wins the series. If the Spurs win, that means that they have adjusted to antoni's adjustments, and I don't think antoni has a second rabbit to pull out of the hat. If the Suns win, they'll have taken 2 in a row, including one in san antonio, and have regained homecourt, and be riding a wave of momentum, which is what they feed off of (more so than any other team).

Well that is correct, if the Spurs do lose the next 3 games the Suns would win the series 4-1. That is a very astute comment!

Splitting at SA will be extremely dangerous, yielding HCA back to Suns, with Game5/7 in PHX.

Why get behind? Why stay even? Get ahead and stay ahead.

spurs really need to come out strong at home and make a statement that phx has to bring their A game when they play in sa. spurs just really need this win...we cant afford going tied or maybe down back to phx....no way in hell spurs want this going seven

I just can't believe what a big deal this has become. It's plastered all over the sports media, it's a 700-post topic here at Spurstalk, everyone's making it a huge deal.

1. Amare is sensitive about injuries because one false step could take him out of the game for good.

2. Bowen has been accused of being dirty by several players--as a journalist, I don't see think this is a very fresh story. This is old news.

Every playoff game is a must win. Its a seven game series and it aint over till its over.

Odds are that if the spurs give back home court advantage, they probably don't win the series. It will be very tough to win another game in Phoenix. I would say their chances of winning in this case become 30%, probably worse.

Odds are, if the Spurs go up 3-1, they win it hands down, 90+% they move on.

Phoenix came back from 3-1 against a weak laker team last year, but they are not doing it against the spurs.

Spurs were VERY VERY close to coming back last year, but in was on the Spurs home court in game 7. I think the Spurs still have a good chance if we need to win 2 out of 3 with 2 games in phoenix, but we have to be honest, the odds will be against us.

Keep it simple, defend home court.
