View Full Version : good pregame bar?
heading to the game this evening.
i live in austin so i am not familiar with the bars in the area of the arena. back in the alamodome days we used to go the josephine street steakhouse for some drinks and food.
where is a good place to go for a pregame "warmup" near the at&t center?

anywhere other than the AT&T area. Seriously, there is nowhere near the arena that is worth it or safe enough.

Best thing to do is take a 6-pack and drink it in the parking lot of the At&t.

Any suggestions on where to watch the game? Preferably North Central. Grandma is watching the kids tonight so hubby and I are going to catch the game somewhere.

I've only been to the AT&T Center once, but I quite enjoyed drinking at the arena [in comparison to stadiums/arenas in the UK]. Yes, the beers are $8 and it's disgraceful, but as it's a one-off, and I was effectively on vacation, I let it pass.
There's a rather pleasant beer tent outside once you've had your ticket checked, which I found very relaxing. Bear in mind that in the UK in January, it's hammering down, so being able to sit outside in a t-shirt was a true pleasure!
I generally find - at any arena - that the atmosphere is better inside the arena than anywhere else, so get in, get a beer, get a dog, and soak up the atmosphere. Wish I could join you!

"in the parking lot of the At&t."
At least the drinking is done after driving. :) 0.08% limit is already negligently letting the alcohol industry buy enough legislators to set the limit so high.
