Knicks: Houston injures his back

Guard Allan Houston felt a spasm in his lower right back while attempting to make a layup in the third quarter of Monday's game against the Magic, the New York Post reported. Houston left the game two minutes later and did not return. He tried to stretch out his back by the bench but was unable to get loose. Houston then went to the locker room and stretched some more but was unsuccessful again.

Neither Houston nor the team provided a timetable for his return, but back injuries are usually day-to-day. Shandon Anderson will likely start at shooting guard if Houston has to miss any time. The Knicks play next on Wednesday night at home against the Bucks.
