Anybody know why Raja was complaining all night? I saw him getting in Bowens face, and manus, and parkers. I haven't heard anything from anybody also haven't read any news on this..

Raja's a fiery guy and fierce defender. He gets caught up in the action of the game.

That's why he's one of my favorite players in the league.

He better stop or we might put Ely in there to shut him up.

One of announcers (for what it's worth :rolleyes ) said Bell was grousing to Bowen about an elbow of Manus that connected. I think, and certainly hope it was before the black eye.

The only way Melvin Ely sees the court in a game uniform is if James White and Jackie Butler get their SUV stuck between I-35 and I-37 while leading police on a high-speed chase that starts in Atascosa County.

That's correct - Bell was telling Bowen that Manu hit him/someone with an elbow and Bruce was trying to say that it wasn't intentional. I didn't get why Bell would complain to Bruce during the game - it's not like Bruce was going to say, "Yeah Manu is dirty" :lol but Bell seemed pretty pissed off in postgame.

I think it may have been after. But either way is fine with me. Physical play is physical play. If the refs are going to swallow their whistles, the players are going to have to duke it out in an old-school stylee.

Who needs hockey when you have the Spurs-Suns??

Manu threw an elbow that connected to the side of Nash's face. It happened in the third quarter right after Manu had passed the ball to Bowen in the corner for the 18 foot jumper.

Bell and others on the Suns bench thought it was a cheap shot. To me it looked like Manu was frustrated and was just being physical. The Suns proceeded to complain about that play for the next five minutes.

Props to Manu for playing playoff style physical basketball. F Da Haterz :tu

Bell is the one guy on the Suns team that I wish was a Spur. Yeah I know the story about him being in Spurs camp back in the day. I just like his tenacity and improved shooting ability. He'd fit quite well with us.

I've read that Bell and Bowen are great friends off the court. Both spend the offseason working out together in Miami and both came up through the NBA ranks the hard way. Much props to both for fashioning decent careers without much fanfare.

Someone should YouTube the play that got the Suns mad. It was actually nothing. Nash was boxing out Manu and Manu gave him a playoff elbow.

:cry

I missed this play, I guess. I adore Manu, so I can't believe I'm about to ask this...but how is his elbow shot (if it was out of frustration) any different than the Kobe elbow shot on Manu?

Kori do you go into the visitors lockerroom?

Manu's elbow barely connected and it was pretty subtle.

Speaking of shutting up, did any of you at-the-gamers or for that matter those watching on tv, hear that chick with the shrill yelp that would holler after every Suns basket or D stop or anything good for the Suns?

Was anyone ribbing her back?

Kori do you go into the visitors lockerroom?

Not often, but sometimes.

In the playoffs, they bring the visitors coach and at least one opposing player to the main interview room, which is near the home locker room.

Remember the wicked elbow Raja threw at Parker when he was playing for the Mavs?

I watched it many it many times just right now...just playoff basketball.

Nash actually was boxing out as bowen released his jumper. But he boxed out by putting his left arm right on manu's face/neck area (like clothesline area...not saying he clotheslined him, just that's the area where he had his arm), and manu reached out (while being "boxed out" by nash's arm) and put HIS arm on nash in the same area to try to box him out the same way.

And that's the story. Nash, by the way, kept his arm on manu in the same spot even after the shot went through. But I don't think nash said anything about it, Manu didn't say anything about it either...game continues....rest of suns players/bench gets all belligerant about it.

It's always like this...amare complaining about manu holding his leg?? No one ever points out amare shoving/tripping manu to put him on the ground in the first place. So I think it's justified that manu hold his leg, in a way. I'm not entirely sure about this though. Can someone tell me what point in the game this occured so I can look?

Thing is, suns I think try to be more subtle w/ their physicality (w/ the exception of raja), especially amare. And when they get physicality in return, they get pissed...as if just because they did it w/ subtlety (or tried to), in their minds, they didn't do it.

Now I'm not saying suns always initiate the physicality...everyone initiates it on both sides. Just spurs players don't complain nearly as much about it, because they know they're being just as physical...they're just not trying to be subtle and get away with being physical without the consequences.
