I thought they were fine with Duncan on the bench. That pick in roll towards the end with Duncan in the game is what killed the Spurs. That and no ball movement in the closing minutes killed them.

I was chatting with other Spurs fans on this board during the game, and right before the meltdown, we were noting that Duncan picked up his 3rd or 4th foul, went to the bench, and the Spurs kept their composure and kept an 11 point lead with half the quarter gone. So, it seemed then that no, Pop made the right call, and put Duncan in to try and close out the quarter. But then he got whistled for - was it 1 or 2 more fouls? - an offensive one, which really seemed to throw him out of his game, because then he travelled and made a couple bad decisions down the stretch.

I think the error is on Duncan, and secondarily on the refs. I think Pop made the right call, it just backfired on him.

Yes. Pop benched him for too long in the fourth quarter.

Yes, Manu needs to be playing his best (and he's not) for Pop to keep Duncan on the bench that long.

There was a time-out a at point in the game (first half? It's all a daze now), when the Spurs were on a roll, and Pop called a time-out.

We blew a 10 point lead after that, too, if I recall correctly.

Pop made a few mistakes last night that probably cost us the game.

I felt like Ducan sat a little too long....but the refs were all over him last night. He could have farted and the refs would have called a foul on him.

no, we had a 11 pt lead. we just choked it away.

Pop saw that refs were calling shitty fouls too. they were on a mission to foul duncan out.

I agree with the peeps on here. Pop didn't keep TD on the bench too long. Spurs were on a maintaining the lead with TD on the bench. The game was lost because the Spurs were bricking towards the end. And more standing around while TD tries to score bullsh*t. That sh*t won't work! We need someone to step up if Manu isn't scoring. Fin, Tony should have stepped up. Suns were also defending good towards the end. :dizzy

I think Pop kept him out too long. Although Timmy's 2 travelling calls didn't help to much when Pop finally put him back in.
