2-2. This series has just begun. Am I disappointed with how they failed to close the game after 47 minutes last night? Sure. That's over and done with. Enough of the bellyaching and pessimistic lamentations. If you aren't confident in the Spurs in a best out of 3 with the Suns, get off the wagon. If you can't stand it when the Spurs have a real series on their hands, get off the wagon. If someone didn't know better they'd probably be led to believe the Spurs were down 0-3 after scanning the 1st page of this forum. Fuck it, I'm done with this forum until after tomorrow night's game.

What's sad is their collapse doesn't surprise me. Do they ever close out like they are supposed to, or do they have a contract with the TexSan heart hospital. That get a cut of every playoff related heart attack

Fuckin blows...a 3-1 lead is completely different than a 2-2 tie, and it was all choked away. FUCK.

If the Spurs had won last night, I'm confident that they would have wrapped it up in game 5 @ Phoenix. Now, I don't even know if the Spurs can win this series given that they have to win at Phoenix at least once more, and Manu fails to be consistent.

Oh come on! How did everyone feel when the Spurs got fuckin trounced in games 3 and 4 of the 05 finals? MB is right, this series is just getting started.

Um, the Spurs beat the Nuggettes by closing them out in the 4th quarter. If you saw the series it seems odd that you'd suggest that they don't ever close anybody out after a single late-game collapse.

What makes me so worried is that the spurs have not played well this entire series, not only that but the Suns were giving this game away and we just let them walk right back.

Furthermore, I'm worried about what big fucking deal it is to face these guys at home one more time when

a)phoenix goes to the line more in SA than we do
b) the fans (this means you who are lucky enough to live in SA and go to games) sounded like they were taking naps and text messaging instead of cheering for their team to win

I have never heard the spurs crowd be such a non factor
fucking ashamed of how lame the spurs crowd is

That was a terrible crowd.

Yeah, the crowd should be absolutely ashamed of themselves - what a bunch of pussies. You don't think the silent arena/groans messed with the players' heads a little? It should have been deafening for the entire 4th quarter. :devil

As dimsah said, this does feel a lot like it felt after game 4 of the 2005 Finals. At the time, I remember thinking WTF? We killed them in the first two games, then they did the same to us... how does that work? Game 5 will be a one-point nailbiter. This time I'm thinking much the same... except someone other than Rob is going to have to save us this time... :oops

However, if we lose game 5 it is all over. No way we win 2 in a row, including game 7, in Phoenix - not given the total collapse we witnessed yesterday (which showed a weakness of character I thought this team had overcome with their 4th quarter poise in the playoffs thus far).

Anyway, here's hopin'...

You're the first person I've read that's made any reference to the Spurs crowd - last night and just about every other night the Spurs play. When the Warriors play, their house caves in. When the Suns play, we can't even hear ourselves think in San Antonio!

It's sad and it's embarrassing. Every player talks about how important the crowd is, how they all play off the energy of the crowd, and how the screaming pushes them on. Our crowds must just put them straight to sleep...

Anyway, thanks for bringing it up.
