IF we eliminate Phoenix, we'll have to play the Jazz ; I have to admit, I think they can beat us.

1. Booze is a monster inside ; Okur is a clutch player. And Collins is the insurance policy (foul Duncan so Booze and Okur can stay in the game)

2. Deron Williams is just solid and fearless ; good defender too , and he is stronger than Parker ; his backup is none other than Derek Fisher , and Vaughn better bring his A game every night.

3. Potential matchup problem with AK 47.

4. Jerry Sloan is a great coach.

If we want to beat them, we'll have to play well for 48 minutes ; we can't afford to "execute" the sloppy plays that allowed Phoenix to come back at the end of game 4.

Exactly, when I read this I thought, I'm a bit scared of Phoenix, we aren't done with them just yet...

Meh, there's 500 other threads focusing on the here and now, I'd like to look at Utah as a matchup. You can only talk about Horry and the suspensions so much.

Ok, it was too early to start this thread, but now that we eliminated the Phoenix Funs, let's do this.

We're gonna win this by defense.

It's gonna be tough, but it's gonna be Spurs's pace ; 2 similar teams

I hope the Spurs don't subscribe to the notion that last nights closeout of the Suns was the WCF (I don't think they will). The Jazz are a damn good team right now and the similarity between the Spurs and the Jazz is striking. Neither team beats themselves on the court, both know how to execute down the stretch.

We will have a very hard time winning the rebound battle against the Jazz like we always do because Okur takes one of our bigs out of the paint, and they are just a damn good team of rebounders.

The Jazz can match our physicality at every position as well.

The key in this series will come down to agressive offense. Whichever team bails out the other by settling for too many jumpers will be in trouble. It is crucial that Tony and Manu keep the pressure on the Jazz by living in the paint, at least until the Jazz pack it in and turn lose the shooters.

In the end I like our shooters percentage from 3 over the Jazz, and I think that will be the difference in the series.

Get ready for smallball. Utahs weakness is their guards. Thats where the Spurs will attack them.

They -Utah guards- might be weak offensively in small ball environment -esp. in creating their own offense, but they will eat our guards in the offensive glass i'm affraid.

It would be a nice battle of strategy from both veterant coaches for sure, in squeezing the matchups to work in favor for each respective teams accordingly.
