Okay, that might have been a little harsh, but the more reading and research I do on it, the more I'm convinced there won't be a solution until one side (either the radical Islamic side or the Christian/free world side) is completely killed off.

And that sucks. Maybe I could revise that one for the Middle East to actually go through modernization and the Industrial Revolution, but still...

Fighting has been part of Islam since it's beginning, and I don't see it stopping... EVER.

Right now I look around and I see radical Islamists running amok worldwide, and I am not seeing enough from "moderate" Muslims calling for it to stop to convince me they aren't tacitly approving of the actions of assholes like Osama.

Hell, take Iraq. The Sunnis are causing all the problems over there. This week they come out and say "until the security situation improves, we can't have the election."

Hey asshole, quit standing up at your daily sermons and telling your "people" to go out and kill the infidel Americans and the Iraqi traitors who are conspiring with them (you know, the ones trying to end the violence and build their country - THE NERVE!), and maybe the security situation with improve.

My original learnings and education regarding Islam (took a class on it at A&M) gave me hope that there could be peace. But like I said, I don't see moderate Muslims taking a leadership role in their religion and calling for the violence to end. And until that happens on a worldwide scale, I'm not convinced Islam is anything but a religion of war.
