Stephen A. Smith and Scoop Jackson both just said that Tim Duncan is the best player remaining in the playoffs, HANDS DOWN, NO DISCUSSIONS ALLOWED. I've heard many others say that.

The truth is most fans outside of the San Antonio fan base don't know as much about Duncan as his game merits. I'd take Duncan time and again over Nash.

Then again Duncan isn't a pretty white boy like Nash either.

Besides, many are probably fair weather fans and know little about Duncan since Duncan rarely talks to the media. Also, and let's be frank here, MANY vote for Nash because they think he's a handsome white man. I don't say they do it with racist intentions, but I think its intrinsic in their comment. Every woman who voted who is NOT a Spurs fan voted for Nash, for example. And every neutral white male fan probably voted for Nash because he could relate to Nash's game, being that he's not that much taller and thrives without getting up and dunking on people. Lame thread in general, Judaspriestess.

Duncan over Nash any day of the week. And I like Nash, I think he's one of the best PG's in the league. But there's no comparison.

Nash has back to back MVP's, so does Duncan.
But Duncan has those three rings. And the MVP's that go with them.

Best player left in the Playoffs? There's only one answer.
Duncan is the best on BOTH sides of the floor. And that's the only way to get it done.

I repeat, Stephen A. Smith and Scoop Jackson have been all in support of Phoenix during the suspension fiasco, but they both adamantly agreed that Tim Duncan is BY AND FAR the best player still in the playoffs. When they debated the best coach, they both agreed that Gregg Popovich is the best coach in the L, although Smith said and argument could be made for Jerry Sloan.

Again, that was Stephen A. Smith and Scoop Jackson saying that Duncan is the greatest player BY FAR still in the playoffs, and that includes Nash, and that Popovich is the best coach in the League.

And those are two East Coast big mouths, especially Smith. So chew on that Suns fans who live for other people's opinions instead of their own.

LOL yeah goes to who you just how uneducated people are out there that vote in these polls. How is a guy that can't play a lick of defense better than Tim Duncan? When Nash is on offense he controls so much and is great but on the other end of the floor he is totally useless. Look at Timmy last night. They double teamed him every time he touched it in the 2nd half. However not only did he get his guys open shots but he rebounded great and played amazing D all night. Tim is so much better than Nash it is a joke.

If I were a casual fan of the NBA with limited knowledge of basketball and not a fan of the Spurs, I might even vote against Duncan in such a poll just to make a petty statement. I'm thinking that by NOT coming off as too friendly in the media, being alarmingly unavailable for national interviews, and having a stoic look about him, I'd peg him for arrogant and condescending. Of course we in San Antonio know that is not the case, but images are powerful as you know.
I don't get that from Non-Spurs fans. Tim Duncan has always come off very humble and quiet to players. Just non-flashy, never snobbish or condescending.
Though I do agree, some vote non-Duncan, just to go away from him for whatever reasons. Whether him always being here. But I don't think media or Image played a part, because I would have thought Lebron would get voted more if it was a national influence of sorts. Based on image alone.
I think Nash is just very likeable in an underdog manner, and Duncan gets overlooked because he's "boring" or it's just expected of him. Basketball fans are so used to Duncan being the best by now.

Were it not for the late series of cheapshots that transpired on the court, I honestly don't think the vote would have been so one-sided in Nash's favor.

:lmao

So, you resort to "92,000 out of 300,000,000 people, aka the entire country think Nash is better than Duncan" smack.

no, actually he went with the "41,678 out of 300,000,000 people, aka the entire country think Nash is better than Duncan" smack.

Pull your heads out. The country doesn't like your team, not because of Duncan, but because of Horry and Bowen

Then why not post a poll taken with those parameters...?

Not the brightest bulb in the package are you?

Pretty sure it was "who is the best player left in the playoffs", not which team do you like best.....

Summer school is in order.

That's exactly the reason how the votes occurred the way it is, isn't it? Spurs fans see nothing what non-Spurs fans see. :rolleyes
