It's official. I just got word - we are moving to the southside. :elephant
Hunters Pond, across 410 from Palo Alto.

I've been DREAMING of this day!! And the best part is the commute to work is only 5 mins!!
And the 2nd best part is the flea market is right around the corner!!
June 9th is gonna be the big day, I already booked it with the movers (this is gonna be the 1st time we don;t borrow a million pickups and move ourselves... that in of it's self is enough to make me pass out from happyness)

anyway - here's a pic.

What are your plans for the yard? Is there a seperate garage in back?

Thanks guys!

your right SW - this 5x9 patio is NOT meeting our needs!

clam - there is a back alley with a 2 car garage in the back.
we have a smallish but not miniscule back and side yard. (which is fine, my husband grew up on ACERAGE and he doesn;t want to take more than a weekend to mow ever again... most everything we looked at all he could talk about was having to mow the yard).
I'm going to do a bit of prettying up in the front... some low water plants and ground cover and some colorful perenials in planters along the porch.
in the back we'll have a play area, a BBQ pit and a small veggie garden and compost pile.

The grass condition looks pretty good. Is the garage detached? I love it when their not attached. What kind of fence back there?

Congrats! What a cute house. It seems like when I left you were ready to pop. Did you have another girl?

actually the grass is pretty shitty.
noone took care of the sod after it was placed. ERG!
the green you are seeing is the weeds :lol
the garage is attached, which is fine by me. I prefer the unattached kind as well - but they are hard to find down here. especially on small lots. It's a 6ft tall privacy fence.

speaking of.... i hate it when those things go to crap ASAP after they are put in... anyone know if it would be smart/stupid to spray some thompsons water seal on there?

Hey! :toast

YES! I did , we named her Eloisa (eh-LOY-sa) and she's 19 months old now! can you believe it? and soooooooooo defiant. *le sigh* so much like me. :lol
Her favorite word is "no" but it;s so darn cute because when she says it her lips come together in a purse and she shakes her head so her curlies bounce.

Holy crap! A new baby and new house! Congrats! Yes, it's always a good idea to seal it.

The fence, not the baby.

Well we're moving on down
(Movin' on down)
To the Southside
(Come on, movin' on down)
To a three-bedroom tract house in the Pond
Movin' on down
(Movin' on down)
To the Southside
(Come on, movin' on down)
We need to get some sod
For the lawn

Veggies grow in the garden
BBQ on the grill
Took a while for the buyin'
Mowin' is almost nil

Now we're close to our workplace
And to the flea market
A two-car attached garage
And a new baby
Then maybe someday a pet

Well we're moving on down
(Movin' on down)
To the Southside
(Come on, movin' on down)
To a three-bedroom tract house in the Pond
Movin' on down

After that first year seal it with water sealant but make sure you reapply it yearly. Also, best to do it in winter or early spring before grass begins to grow because if it sprays on the grass (assuming you spray it - easiest way to apply) it will kill that section and it looks funny until it regrows.

That would be awesome if they could find a way to seal a new baby ... they leak ... a lot. :lol

Congrats. I had someone redo my yard if you decide to have decent grass put in, I'll give you his digits.

And Bud Jones sucks. It's down there with the Olive Garden.

Congrats, having your own home rules. It can be a pain at times but very well worth it, and you should treat your fence while it's still new.
